The Industrial Engineer supports manufacturing sustainment operations and new product introductions for advanced AI/ML and GPU-accelerated server rack platforms. This role optimizes production systems to achieve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and scalability objectives in a high-complexity, fast-paced manufacturing environment. The position plays a critical role in production ramp readiness, time standard integrity, capacity modeling, layout optimization, and continuous improvement execution, and operates as part of a core team launching new manufacturing technologies through strong cross-functional collaboration and data-driven process improvements.
Responsibilities
Partner cross-functionally with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and Test Engineering to support new product introductions.
Develop and validate time standards, labor models, and capacity plans to ensure accurate production planning and staffing.
Define workstation requirements, material flow strategies, and tooling needs to support efficient and scalable manufacturing operations.
Support NPI builds by monitoring performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing corrective actions to improve throughput and stability.
Conduct time studies and work measurement analysis to establish and refine standard work and productivity benchmarks.
Monitor and improve operational metrics such as throughput, work-in-process (WIP), lead time, first pass yield (FPY), and labor efficiency.
Lead layout improvements, line balancing, and material handling optimization to enhance flow, reduce waste, and increase capacity.
Develop, implement, and maintain standard work, process documentation, and work instructions to ensure consistency and quality.
Analyze workforce utilization and facility layouts to maximize efficiency and effective use of resources.
Support continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives by identifying opportunities, implementing solutions, and tracking results.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and company policies in all industrial engineering activities and process changes.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
Experience with time studies, work measurement, and establishing time standards.
Experience with capacity planning and manufacturing workflows.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel.
Industrial engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated experience in process improvement and production optimization.
Experience with lean manufacturing principles and practices.
Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Lean manufacturing experience with a focus on waste reduction and flow optimization.
Experience with MES/ERP systems such as SAP.
Experience with AutoCAD or similar tools for layout and facility design.
Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt) preferred.
Experience supporting new product introductions in a manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with advanced hardware systems such as AI/ML and GPU-accelerated platforms.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced setting.
Strong communication skills to document processes and present findings and recommendations.
Work Environment
The role is based in a fast-paced, high-complexity manufacturing setting focused on advanced hardware systems, including AI/ML and GPU-accelerated server rack platforms. It is a fully on-site position, typically operating Monday through the standard workweek, requiring close collaboration with engineering, operations, and production teams on the factory floor. The environment emphasizes continuous improvement, data-driven decision-making, and hands-on engagement with production lines, layouts, and material flows. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr.
