Job Title: Counter Sales and Parts Specialist $23-$25 an hour
Job Description
This role focuses on providing front counter and phone support in a concrete saw and equipment shop, assisting contractors and walk-in customers with parts, blades, and saw equipment. You will handle approximately 20 calls and walk-in inquiries per day, accurately log and process orders using QuickBooks and basic computer systems, and ensure parts are organized and ready for timely customer pickup or service. The position combines customer service, counter sales, and inventory coordination in a fast-paced, climate-controlled environment.
Responsibilities
Assist customers in person at the counter and over the phone, providing friendly and knowledgeable service throughout each interaction.
Help identify appropriate blades, saw parts, and equipment components based on customer needs and equipment specifications.
Process sales orders, invoices, and quotes accurately using QuickBooks and other computer systems.
Organize and log parts in the system so they can be quickly located and brought to the customer as needed.
Coordinate service drop-offs and pickups, ensuring clear communication between customers and the service team.
Stock, label, and organize parts inventory to maintain an orderly and efficient parts area.
Work closely with the service team and technicians to support repair and maintenance workflows.
Handle outbound calls as needed to follow up on orders, confirm details, and support customer requests.
Use Microsoft Office and other basic computer tools to manage documentation, communication, and inventory records.
Maintain a high level of customer service by addressing issues, answering questions, and providing product guidance on saws, blades, and related equipment.
Apply knowledge of concrete cutting, construction tools, or plumbing-related components when assisting customers, as applicable.
Safely lift and move parts or equipment up to 50 lbs as part of daily operations.
Essential Skills
Previous customer service or counter sales experience in a retail, parts, or service-oriented environment.
Proficiency with QuickBooks or strong willingness and ability to learn QuickBooks for logging and processing parts and sales.
Basic computer skills, including operation of inventory systems and general software tools.
Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in person and over the phone.
Ability to handle multiple customer interactions per day, including approximately 20 calls and walk-ins, while maintaining accuracy and composure.
Mechanical aptitude or familiarity with tools, equipment components, and parts identification.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely as part of stocking and handling parts and equipment.
Organizational skills to manage parts inventory, maintain order, and ensure parts are ready for customer pickup.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, contractor-focused environment with frequent customer contact.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with construction equipment, auto parts, tool rental, or similar industries.
Knowledge of saw blade sizes, concrete cutting equipment, and saw operation.
Experience with inside sales, counter sales support, or service coordination.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office for basic documentation and communication.

Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
Experience managing inventory, stocking parts, and using inventory systems.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
