The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the principal executive assistant performing various administrative and clerical duties in support of the Wing Commander, Senior Leadership Team and their staff. Responsibilities 1. Provides a wide variety of recurring and nonrecurring personal and executive correspondence, reports, and other documents from information obtained from the staff, files, and other sources. 2. Reviews and processes incoming and outgoing correspondence, reports, and other materials submitted for the Wing Commander's signature. 3. Receives telephone calls, greets visitors and ascertains the nature of the calls or visits, screening those that can be handled without supervisor's help. 4. Maintains Wing Commander's and Senior Leadership Team calendars, coordinates meeting arrangements, and schedules meetings. Independently notes and follows up on commitments made at meetings by staff members. 5. Performs other clerical and administrative work in support of the office/organization. Assists the Chief of Protocol in managing, directing and coordinating protocol activities of the 688th Cyberspace Wing. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications This is a GG-11 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-11 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-11 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include knowledge of the duties, priorities, commitments, policies, and program goals of 688 CW sufficient to perform non-routine assignments, such as independently noting and following-up commitments made at meetings; locating and summarizing information from files and documents that requires recognizing which information is, or is not, relevant to the problem at hand. Knowledge of 688 CW and its subordinate squadrons required to coordinate the work of the office with the work of other offices and for recognizing the need for such coordination in various circumstances; Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to prepare and edit written correspondence and reports; Knowledge of the substantive programs of the organization as they relate to administrative and clerical support functions; Knowledge of Air Force protocol functions necessary for the many official visits by both military and civilian dignitaries from local, state and federal governments; Knowledge of the nature and capability of word processing creating form letters and automatically merging these with mailing lists; Knowledge of standard office equipment, such as copiers, fax machines, and office automation systems, to perform a substantial range of office automation support. A fully qualified typist is required. Experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency. OR EDUCATION: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position or LL.M., if related. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of extensive rules, procedures, or operations applied to secretarial and clerical assignments to perform the procedural and administrative work of the office, such as preparing and editing documents, maintaining files/records, making and preparing travel arrangements, locating, assembling and composing information for various reports, inquiries, and nontechnical correspondence. 2. Knowledge of office functions and commitments of supervisor and staff to prepare and review correspondence, to screen telephone calls and visitors, to maintain supervisor's calendar, and to perform other substantive or administrative work of the organization. 3. Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to accurately prepare and edit written correspondence and reports. 4. Knowledge of word processing automation software functions to support office operations and produce a variety of textual documents such as letters, reports, memos, and form letters. 5. Skill in typing; a qualified typist is required and the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. 6. Knowledge of and experience with the concepts, principles, and practices of protocol, military ceremonies, traditions, customs and courtesies, both national and international, USCC, MAJCOM and Wing level, as well as flight line protocol. Knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, policies, precedents, local guidelines and local organizations which affect the protocol program and related support; and knowledge of world political situations; US and foreign military rank structure, political configuration, and order of precedence Conditions of Employment Continued: Position is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
