Team Lead - 2nd Shift (Production/Operations)

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Team Lead to oversee 2nd shift operations , managing a team of 10-20 entry-level operators . This role is responsible for driving productivity, maintaining quality and safety standards, and supporting team development in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, problem-solver, and leader who thrives in a production or operational setting.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and support a team of 10-20 entry-level operators

Assign daily tasks and ensure team members understand expectations

Monitor workflow to meet production goals, deadlines, and quality standards

Identify and resolve operational issues in real time

Train new employees and provide ongoing performance feedback

Enforce safety procedures and ensure a safe work environment

Qualifications

2-4 years of leadership or supervisory experience (manufacturing, warehouse, or operations preferred)

Experience working with entry-level or hourly teams is highly preferred

Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills

Ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced environment

Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office or similar systems)

High school diploma or equivalent required

Work Environment

Fast-paced production or operational setting

Standing, walking, and light lifting may be required

2nd shift hours (typically afternoon to evening)

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ames, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
