Responsibilities If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing technical and analytical assistance which support the information management needs of the United States Attorney's Office, many of who may be located in geographically distant branch offices. Typical work assignments will include: Maintaining network architecture and infrastructure. Schedule, setup, manage video teleconferences (VTC) and virtual meetings using platforms such as Microsoft Teams, WebEx and PolyCom. Resolving hardware/software interface and interoperability problems. Coordinates logistics, including but not limited to, invites, room preparation, hosting, presentation support. Implementing policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability. Monitoring functionality, security, and integrity of internet services. Installing, configuring, and maintaining litigation support equipment. Installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining customer hardware and software. Work closely with end users, both internal and external, to understand VTC requirements and provide technical support before, during and after meetings. Train and assist users on VTC platforms and meeting features. Responsible for set up for all press conferences, including creating meeting link, room staging and working with press for sound check. Making weekly visits to the branch offices Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-07: To be qualified applicants must meet ONE of the following: Specilized Experience: At least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in Federal service. Specialized experience is defined performing the following @types of duties: assisting in performing a variety of tasks associated with the day-to-day operations and administration of IT systems; applying basic IT principles and practices to provide software/hardware maintenance support; providing user assistance on basic computer applications; and assisting with network monitoring and management. OR Education: Successfully completed 1 full year of graduate level education in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. OR Superior Academic Achievement: Successfully completed a bachelor's degree or expect to complete the requirements for a Bachelor's degree within the next 9 months in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management, AND possess at least one of the following criteria: class standing in the upper third of the graduating class; an overall GPA of 3.0 OR at least a 3.0 based on courses completed during the final two years of my curriculum; a GPA of at least 3.5 based on the average of required courses completed in my major field OR based on the average of required courses completed during the final two years of my curriculum; OR election to membership in a national scholastic honor society.. OR Combination: A combination of specialized experience and graduate education as described above which when combined equal 100% of the requirements. GS-09: To be qualified applicants must meet ONE of the following: Specialized Experience: At least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in Federal service. Specialized experience is defined performing the following @types of duties: resolving recurring software and hardware problems; providing technical and advisory information technology assistance to an organization. OR Education: A Master's or equivalent graduate degree (such as an LL.B.); OR 2 full years of progressively higher graduate education leading to such a degree. This education must have been in one of the following fields or must have provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the following fields and must have required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks: Computer Science, Engineering, Information Science, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, or Technology Management. OR Combination: A combination of specialized experience and graduate education as described above which when combined equal 100% of the requirements. (Only graduate education in excess of 1 full year is creditable.) GS-11: To be qualified applicants must meet ONE of the following: Specialized Experience: At least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in Federal service. Specialized experience is defined providing IT customer support in troubleshooting, recovering, and resolving recurring software/hardware problems; providing user training and assistance on a variety of routine applications; assisting in the configuration, installation, and maintenance of networked systems including hubs, routers, switches, bridges, servers, and related hardware; and assisting in network monitoring and management. OR Education: A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management OR degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. OR Combination: A combination of specialized experience and graduate education as described above which when combined equal 100% of the requirements. (Only graduate education in excess of 2 full years is creditable.)
