Electro-Mechanical Engineering Manager - Space Systems

Description: We are seeking a Electro-Mechanical Engineering Manager in Severn, MD.

Role & Responsibilities:

Manages the application of electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to components and systems, including assembly, analysis, and documentation of results for space systems

Construction of developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components; Quality testing.

Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.

Leads team of 8-12 Mechanical and Electro-mechanical Engineers.

Oversees support and participation in the design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of proto@type and flight electromechanical systems.

Basic Qualifications:

5+ years Engineering Management Experience and/or Integrated Product Team Leadership.

Experience with Resource management, Management of direct reports, Interviewing & Hiring, Mentoring/guiding of direct reports, Performance reviews & Compensation

Experience with Space System Design, Fabrication, Test, and Operation

Experience with Electronics Packaging / RF Electronics Packaging (board level through system level)

Experience with SolidWorks, CREO, Windchill, Ansys, MS Project

Experience/familiarity with solder joint fatigue analysis

Experience with IEEE Standards, IPC-2221, IPC-6012, Thermal Analysis, Structural analysis (static and dynamic - e.g. vibration, shock), ASME Y14.5, ASTM E595, NASA GEVS, SMC-S-016, EEE-INST-002

Experience with Requirements Management (DOORS) and Risk and Opportunities Management

Experience with Proposals & full project lifecycle

US Citizen. Ability to obtain & maintain a security clearance

Desired Skills:

8+ years of related experience and technical degree such as Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, or related degree or 5+ years of related experience and related post-secondary degree technical degree or 15+ years of relevant technical experience

2+ years leading a technical team

Active TS/SCI security clearance

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $128,400 - $226,435. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
