organized, personable, and dedicated individual to join our Office of
the Medical Examiner as a Administrative Assistant I. This position
offers the opportunity to provide vital support to the department by
managing communications, assisting families, and ensuring the smooth

supervision of the Waushara County Medical Examiner, performs all
administrative functions relating to the Office of the Medical Examiner.
Coordinates, organizes and processes the business and financial
activities of the office. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Provides
receptionist coverage for the Office, including but not limited to,
greeting the public, answering the telephone in a manner that conveys a
positive and helpful image, directing the public to the appropriate
staff. 2. Provides administrative support for the Office of the Medical
Examiner including, but not limited to preparation of correspondence,
reports, contracts, and data entry. 3. Checks and completes timecards in
preparation for payroll. Prepares mileage and expense reimbursements for
staff. 4. Responsible for financial functions of the office including
bi-weekly preparation of all vouchers, deposits to the County Treasurers
Office, and the processing of credit card transactions. Prepares
departmental billings for accounts receivables as necessary. 5.
Maintains department case files and other files. 6. Processes public
records requests in accordance with state statutes. 7. Supports Medical
Examiner and staff with maintaining inventory and ordering equipment and
supplies. 8. All other duties as assigned by the Medical Examiner.
WORKING ELEMENTS: A. Education, Training and Experience High school
graduate or equivalent, with courses relating to administrative
functions. Minimum one year experience of office, administrative, or
computer work. B. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of typing
and a variety of office equipment including copy machine, computer,
calculators and phone systems. Knowledge of software office products,
including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams. Ability to
handle administrative detail accurately and efficiently. Skills in
meeting deadlines and working accurately, ability to plan and organize
work. Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and the general
public, deal compassionately with grieving family members, and maintain
confidentiality. Ability to establish and maintain effective working
relations with local, State and Federal law enforcement agencies, local
medical community and funeral homes. Ability to deal with issues of
death and dying on a daily basis, often in unpleasant circumstances. C.
Responsibility and Authority Responsible for handling all administrative
functions that relate to the Office of the Medical Examiner as assigned
by the Medical Examiner. D. Working Conditions Normal office conditions,
primarily sedentary in nature. Includes sitting, standing, walking,
bending, stooping, minimal lifting, ability to hear, talk, and view

with company procedures. Locate and attach appropriate files to incoming
correspondence requiring replies. Conduct searches to find needed
information, using such sources as the Internet. Open, read, route, and
distribute incoming mail or other materials and answer routine letters.
Make copies of correspondence or other printed material. Learn to
operate new office technologies as they are developed and implemented.
Train and assist staff with computer usage. Order and dispense supplies.
Collect and deposit money into accounts, disburse funds from cash
accounts to pay bills or invoices, keep records of collections and
disbursements, and ensure accounts are balanced. Provide services to
customers, such as order placement or account information. Prepare and
mail checks. Mail newsletters, promotional material, or other
information. Develop or maintain internal or external company Web sites.
