ABOUT THE ROLE
The Manager, Onsite Quality is responsible for the execution and enforcement of CEI's Project Specific Quality Plan (PSQP) and is the primary point of coordination between Production, Project Management, Subcontractors, AHJ/Third-party Inspectors, and Client on all quality related matters for the project site. The OQM assures installations are in accordance with contract documents, approved submittals, applicable codes, manufacturer requirements, and CEI standards.
While the Manager, Onsite Quality or their crew may not personally perform every task, Quality Assurance (QA) is performed through documentation review, sample-based inspections, and by ensuring deficiencies are identified, communicated, and addressed by Production teams.
The Manager, Onsite Quality reports directly to the Regional Quality Manager and works in close coordination with site supervision, including the site Project Manager and Site Superintendent, to address quality related matters.
CEI Quality Plan implementation
Train onsite teams to the CEI Project Specific Quality Plan (PSQP).
Ensure Policy, Processes, and Procedures are in place and being followed.
Train employees on the use of BIM360 or ACC and Smartsheet.
Audit throughout the lifecycle of the project that CEI and all Sub-contractors are following CEI's program.
Meeting
Attend Quality meetings.
Lead pre-installation meetings DFOWs.
Attend other meetings as required.
Schedule
Quality inspections are reflected within the project schedule.
Update quality schedule activities and durations.
Develop and maintain a 3 week look ahead.
Coordinate Inspection
Internal inspections align with construction flow (Coordinate with CEI Site-Superintendent).
Perform third party inspections and tests as required (CEI PM, CEI Super/GF, GC when applicable).
Coordinate Inspection Requests with GC/Client as required.
Verify equipment/area is ready to inspect prior to walks starting.
Coordinate Definable Features of Work (DFOW) pre-task meetings with the project team.
Coordinate First in Place walks and approvals (with CEI Super/GF, and GC/Owner).
Document Management
Ensure quality documents are being filed and performed in CEI's Quality Management Tool (QMT) such as Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
Review Third party and Sub-contractor inspection and testing reports for accuracy and pass/fail criteria.
Ensure project submittals, specifications, drawing sheets and related RFI's are available for use by the field team, and confirm the production team is working off the most current set at the time of installation.
Verify as-builts are being updated per the CEI and project requirements (coordinate with CEI Site-Super/GF and CEI PM team).
Ensure all required logs and document trackers are being kept up to date (Smartsheet/Excel).
Work with PM staff for updating/uploading documents for project filing and turnover.
Issue management
Track internal issues during construction phase using CEI's QMT (ACC).
Train the site team on utilization of CEI's issue management module in the QMT and audit its use by the QC team.
Identify installation and project issues during audits and inspections in CEI's QMT.
Assigning appropriate CEI team members to identified issues.
Run daily/weekly reports on outstanding issues and communicate the issues to the site team.
Re-inspect corrections after issue resolution by the field team.
Track issues within GC/Owner Platform if required.
Assign to appropriate CEI team member.
Ensure issues are being addressed in a timely manner and follow through on issue closure.
Other Activities
Ensure the quality team is performing all Site Acceptance Inspections (SAI) for equipment received on the project in the QMT.
Ensure CEI's Photo Documentation expectations are clearly communicated and followed on the project.
Implement regular cadence project walks during construction and perform in-progress inspections to identify issues with early intervention in mind.
Fill out Daily reports.
Follow up with GC/Owner Quality personnel onsite for inspections and issue management.
Verify equipment and material is properly protected (coordinate with CEI Super/GF).
Verify all CEI subcontractors are following the CEI Quality Plan.
Ensure the Material check in process (Material SAI) is being followed per site requirements.
Report any deficiencies and follow up on corrective actions if needed.
Submit time for self and associated direct reports (OQI's).
ABOUT YOU
5 years in the electrical industry.
Experience with industry Quality and Commissioning best practices.
Knowledge of most current National Electrical Code (NEC)
Knowledge and experience of Drawing, Specification and Submittal review.
Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, and trade practices.
Knowledge of construction flow and sequencing.
Oral and written skills required.
Ability to navigate: Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Notes, Power Point), Blue Beam, Microsoft Teams, ACC, Smart Sheet.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
Education: Bachelor's degree or Industry experience
Licensure/Certifications: OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, LOTO Policy
Experience: 5 years in the electrical industry.
