Job Description
This role focuses on performing electrical and mechanical maintenance, installation, replacement, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment and components in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. The position is primarily electrical (approximately 80%) with a significant mechanical component (approximately 20%), supporting production equipment such as hydraulic presses, industrial washers, robotics, and related systems on a 1st shift schedule from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, installation, replacement, and troubleshooting on industrial equipment and components with a primary focus on electrical systems.
Install, repair, and troubleshoot 480V and three-phase motors, ensuring safe and reliable operation.
Diagnose and resolve issues with PLC-based control systems, focusing heavily on PLC troubleshooting and repair.
Work with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and human-machine interfaces (HMIs) to troubleshoot, adjust, and support automated equipment.
Install and support safety and automation devices, including light curtains and other machine safety components.
Perform electrical and mechanical work on industrial machinery such as hydraulic presses, industrial washers, robotic cells, and related equipment.
Read, interpret, and apply electrical schematics and wiring diagrams to perform installations and repairs.
Carry out mechanical stripping and rebuilding of machinery, including disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of mechanical components.
Perform hydraulic and pneumatic repairs, including troubleshooting leaks, pressure issues, and component failures.
Support and maintain industrial networks associated with automation and control systems, working closely with the machine shop and other technical teams.
Troubleshoot and maintain robotic systems, particularly Fanuc or Kuka robots, from both electrical and mechanical perspectives.
Assist with machine installations, including wiring, mechanical setup, alignment, and functional testing.
Perform wiring, basic welding related to maintenance tasks, and other industrial maintenance activities as needed.
Document maintenance activities, repairs, and modifications to equipment and communicate equipment status to supervisors and team members.
Follow all safety procedures and company policies to maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
Essential Skills
At least 4+ years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance, working with heavy industrial equipment and automation.
Experience performing electrical maintenance with 480V and three-phase power systems, including motors and associated controls.
Strong PLC troubleshooting skills, including diagnosing, repairing, and supporting PLC-controlled equipment.
Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and the ability to troubleshoot and support VFD-driven systems.
Hands-on experience with automation or robotics, such as Fanuc robots or similar systems.
Solid mechanical skill set, including hydraulics, pneumatics, machine repair, and mobile equipment repair.
Experience in industrial automation and control systems, with 4+ years of experience required, or 7+ years of experience if you do not hold a diploma or degree in a related field.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and apply them in troubleshooting and installation tasks.
Experience with machine installs, troubleshooting, and repair, including mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Competence in preventive maintenance activities on industrial equipment, including inspections, adjustments, and component replacement.
Knowledge of 480V, three-phase motors, wiring practices, and industrial electrical standards.
Ability to work with PLCs for troubleshooting and repair, with some exposure to programming.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
Commitment to working safely in a heavy industrial environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with hydraulic and mechanical presses, particularly in a heavy industrial manufacturing setting.
Experience with programming PLCs or drive systems beyond basic troubleshooting.
Familiarity with VFDs from manufacturers such as Danfoss, SEW, Siemens, or similar brands.
Experience working with Fanuc or Kuka robots, including electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance.
Exposure to industrial networks and communication systems used in automation environments.
Ability to perform basic welding tasks as part of maintenance and repair activities.
Formal education, diploma, or degree in an electrical, industrial maintenance, or related technical field is beneficial.
Willingness to participate in additional training and education provided by the company to expand technical skills and knowledge.

Work Environment
The role is based in a large, family-owned manufacturing facility that has been operating since 1952. The environment is heavy industrial and non-climate controlled, yet kept clean, safe, and well organized. The facility manufactures pressure vessel tank heads for applications such as propane tanks, water storage, cryogenics, commercial and residential fire pits, and various custom metal stampings. Production equipment includes mechanical and hydraulic presses with capacities ranging from 60 to 2,600 tons, industrial washers, robotic systems, and other large-scale machinery. You will work on 1st shift, from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The company provides uniforms and safety-related equipment such as boot and eyeglass vouchers, supporting a practical, safety-focused dress code appropriate for a heavy industrial setting.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
