Summary The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) is the Nation's risk advisor, working with partners to defend against today's threats and collaborating with industry to build a more secure and resilient infrastructure for the future. Responsibilities Typical work assignments include, but are not limited to: Identify threat vulnerabilities, threat tactics, and methodologies. Produce timely, fused, all-source cyber operations intelligence and/or indications and warnings intelligence products (e.g. threat assessments, intelligence studies, country studies). Establish innovative research methodologies to solve analytical problems when raw/finished intelligence materials or other sources contain information gaps and are difficult to validate. Provide evaluation and feedback necessary for improving intelligence production, intelligence reporting, collection requirements, and operations. Provide information and assessments for the purposes of informing leadership and customers. Develop and maintain coordination and liaison with counterparts and colleagues throughout the infrastructure protection, intelligence, and security community. You qualify at the GS-11 grade level, if you have: EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-09 grade level (or equivalent) performing all of the following duties: Reviewing collection requirements, applying knowledge of organizational methods, and collecting intelligence data; AND Preparing basic descriptive intelligence reports, collection manuals, and instructions to field collectors; AND Assisting with evaluating incoming intelligence reports and information to identify gaps, threats, and vulnerabilities; AND Assisting in planning and participating in briefing/debriefing supervisors and stakeholders on all aspects of their work assignments. OR EDUCATION: A. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited institution that included major study in Intelligence Studies, Homeland Security, Operations Research, Cybersecurity, Applied Intelligence, or Critical Infrastructure. OR B. Three (3) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited institution that included major study in the field of study described in statement "A" above. OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above may be used to substitute for the specialized experience requirement. Only graduate education in excess of the second year (determined by the institution) or 36 semester hours or 54 quarter hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. You qualify at the GS-12 grade level, if you have: EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level (or equivalent) performing all of the following duties: Applying knowledge of National intelligence policies, regulations, and compliance documents related to cyber and infrastructure defense; AND Briefing leadership and stakeholders regarding intelligence threats or to address current situations and developing intelligence assessment plans; AND Conducting intelligence short- and long- term planning to identify and assess critical infrastructure vulnerabilities, protection needs, and potential homeland risks; AND Writing, reviewing, and evaluating intelligence reports to support and manage cyber and physical risk to critical infrastructure. You qualify at the GS-13 grade level, if you have: EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level (or equivalent) performing all of the following duties: Researching, drafting, editing, and finalizing finished intelligence products to support operational and strategic intelligence needs; AND Mentoring and reviewing junior intelligence analysts throughout the intelligence production cycle; AND Leading regional engagements and internal/external collaboration activities with intelligence community stakeholders; AND Presenting and discussing research, analyses, and recommendations regarding intelligence analysis procedures, regulations, authorities, and processes to senior leadership and intelligence experts. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
