Job Title: General Laborer / Construction Spotter
Job Description
This role supports a commercial construction crew by providing safe spotting for equipment and vehicles, coordinating site logistics, and assisting with general labor tasks. You will help guide machine operators and drivers, support material loading and movement, and contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe job site.
Responsibilities
Oversee and perform spotting for construction equipment, including lifts and other machinery, to ensure safe operation around workers and materials.
Guide drivers and machine operators while they are loading, unloading, and moving materials throughout the construction site.
Monitor work areas to help ensure individuals working with machines adhere to established safety standards and site rules.
Support driver management by directing vehicle movement, coordinating entry and exit points, and helping prevent congestion and unsafe conditions.
Assist with site cleanup by removing debris, organizing materials, and keeping walkways and work zones clear and safe.
Help coordinate basic site logistics, including staging materials and equipment in designated areas to support efficient workflow.
Perform heavy lifting and general construction labor tasks as needed to support daily operations.
Communicate clearly with crew members, equipment operators, and supervisors to report hazards and support safe work practices.
Essential Skills
Experience with spotting construction equipment and vehicles in an active job site environment.
Ability to manage and guide drivers safely in and around a commercial construction site.
Knowledge of basic construction safety practices and willingness to enforce and follow safety standards.
Capability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks throughout the workday.
Experience with site cleanup and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Familiarity with construction site logistics, including material staging and movement.
Comfort working around mechanical equipment and construction machinery.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in commercial construction or similar field-based work.
Exposure to machine operation environments and understanding of safe operating distances and communication signals.
Ability to work effectively as part of a construction crew and follow instructions from site leadership.
Strong situational awareness and attention to detail in busy, changing site conditions.

Work Environment
This position is based on a commercial construction site and is primarily outdoors. You will work in an active field environment around heavy equipment, lifts, vehicles, and ongoing construction activities. The role involves regular physical activity, including walking, standing for extended periods, and heavy lifting. Work conditions may include exposure to varying weather, noise, and typical construction site hazards. Appropriate workwear and personal protective equipment are required in accordance with site safety policies.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
