The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is seeking to hire one (1) full-time General Maintenance Worker at the Grand Rapids Regional Headquarters.
As a General Maintenance Worker for DNR you will perform janitorial services and maintenance activities to ensure a clean and safe environment for staff and others.
Key Responsibilities:
Janitorial services including dusting, vacuuming, recycling, cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, maintaining floors, etc. following all required department policies and applicable state and federal laws.
Indoor and outdoor maintenance activities including light building repairs and operating equipment for lawn care and snow removal.
Minimum Qualifications
This position does require the incumbent to obtain a Special Engineer Boiler license within 90 days from the day of hire.
Only applicants whose application/resume clearly describe their experience in each of the following minimum qualifications will be considered for this position.
Knowledge of general care and cleaning buildings sufficient to determine proper methods of maintenance and appropriate cleaning methods, materials and equipment.
Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents sufficient to select the appropriate agent(s), safely handle and apply and dispose of safely.
Experience operating lawn mower, snow blower, and small power tools sufficient to perform buildings and grounds work.
Experience in methods, tools and equipment used in maintenance sufficient to operate safely and make minor repairs.
Ability to keep records and perform math calculations sufficient to order supplies and complete inventories.
Customer service skills sufficient to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
Preferred Qualifications
Current possession of a valid Minnesota boilers license.
Additional Requirements
This position requires an unrestricted Class D Driver's license with a clear driving record; per DNR Fleet Policy, only those 18 years of age or older with a valid driver's license may operate equipment and vehicles on behalf of the Agency.
