Job Summary:

Perform all desk related functions including but not limited to checking guests in and out, making room reservations, giving recommendations, and providing directions with the realization that this is the first impression of the hotel a guest receives.

Responsibilities:

Always maintain a courteous and professional attitude.

Thoroughly understands and adheres to proper credit/debit card,

check cashing and cash handling policies and procedures.

Able to respond to guest inquires and resolve minor complaints. If

complaint is bigger than the scope of your authority, report to Front Desk Supervisor and/or Director of Rooms.

Competent in use of front office equipment.

Knowledge of issuing safe deposit boxes.

Able to issue and redeem gift cards.

Able to check in and out guests.

Have knowledge of:

All hotel facilities, services, and hours of operation

Room availability for any given day

Restricted dates, rates, and room @types

All room rates, packages, and promotions

Entertainment and special events scheduled in the hotel.

Must be flexible to work any shift, including weekends and holidays.

Be knowledgeable of PBX operations:

Accurately utilize the features of the PBX consoles, headsets,

telephones, and other related equipment.

Monitor all alarms, dispatch and paging systems located in PBX

and can notify the proper authorities in emergency situations in a calm and competent manner.

Use a clear and positive speaking voice.

Maintain a clean and neat work area and appearance.

Know all safety and emergency procedures.

Adhere to hotels dress code policy.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Prior hotel front desk experience preferred.

High school diploma or GED.

Professional and positive demeanor.

Ability to perform multiple tasks and functions well under pressure.

Excellent communication and organization skills.

Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.

Detail oriented.
