Job Title: Construction General Laborer
Job Description
This role supports the construction of large-scale commercial segmental retaining walls and related earthwork projects. You will work as part of a skilled field crew performing physically demanding tasks such as material handling, site preparation, and basic equipment support to help deliver safe, durable, and visually appealing earth retention systems.
Responsibilities
Assist with the construction of segmental retaining walls, including stacking block and preparing wall foundations.
Perform general construction labor tasks such as shoveling gravel, dirt, and other materials to support site development and earthworks.
Support hardscape and masonry activities, including basic stone masonry tasks under supervision.
Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete assigned tasks.
Measure materials accurately using a tape measure to ensure proper dimensions and alignment.
Handle and move construction materials, including performing frequent heavy lifting throughout the workday.
Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site by following all safety practices and instructions.
Work alongside equipment operators and other crew members to support excavation and earth retention activities.
Follow directions from supervisors and experienced crew members to complete tasks efficiently and on schedule.
Adapt to changing site conditions and assist with additional duties as needed to keep projects moving forward.
Essential Skills
At least 1 year of construction experience.
Experience in landscaping, hardscaping, or construction labor.
Ability to use common hand tools safely and effectively.
Ability to operate basic power tools under guidance.
Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
Capability to perform heavy lifting on a regular basis.
Comfort working in outdoor construction environments and in all weather conditions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in masonry, or stone masonry.
Experience working on retaining walls or similar earth retention structures.
Familiarity with earthworks and excavation activities.
Exposure to heavy equipment and heavy equipment operation, such as excavators, is beneficial.
Strong work ethic and reliability in a physically demanding role.
Ability to work effectively as part of a field construction crew.

Work Environment
This is a field-based, outdoor role working on active construction sites. You will typically work around 50 hours per week on a 5x10 schedule. The position requires working in all elements, including heat, cold, wind, and precipitation, and involves frequent heavy lifting and sustained physical activity on uneven terrain. You will be around construction equipment, excavation activities, and materials such as block, gravel, and soil, and you are expected to follow all site safety practices and wear appropriate work attire and protective gear suitable for outdoor construction work.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $23.00/hr.
