Job Title: Construction Laborer
Job Description
The construction laborer supports basement restoration and repair projects by removing water and debris, cleaning and sanitizing affected areas, and assisting with structural repairs. This role operates a variety of tools and equipment, performs physically demanding tasks in wet and dirty environments, and helps ensure all work meets health and safety standards while maintaining an efficient workflow with the team.
Responsibilities
Remove water and debris from flooded basements using pumps, wet vacuums, and other specialized equipment.
Clean and sanitize affected areas thoroughly to prevent mold and mildew growth.
Dispose of damaged materials and items in accordance with safety regulations and company procedures.
Assist with the setup, monitoring, and operation of drying equipment such as dehumidifiers and air movers.
Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks on structures, tools, and equipment as needed.
Use a jackhammer to break up concrete and other hard surfaces safely and efficiently.
Dig trenches to facilitate drainage and effective water removal around and within basement areas.
Install cement and other materials to repair, reinforce, and restore basement structures.
Lift, carry, and move heavy objects, including debris and equipment, in a safe and efficient manner.
Follow and uphold all health and safety guidelines, including the proper use of tools, equipment, and protective gear.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and maintain an efficient workflow.
Essential Skills
Experience in construction, general labor, cleaning, or a related field is preferred.
Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
Proficiency using a jackhammer and other heavy equipment in a safe manner.
Knowledge of trench digging methods and cement installation techniques.
Hands-on experience using power tools, hand tools, and a tape measure.
Strong attention to detail when cleaning, repairing, and handling materials.
Effective problem-solving skills in fast-paced and changing site conditions.
Ability to work in wet, dirty, and potentially hazardous environments while following safety protocols.
Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in basement restoration, water damage cleanup, or similar work is an advantage.
Familiarity with operating pumps, wet vacuums, dehumidifiers, and air movers.
Comfort working with concrete and other building materials for structural repair.
Willingness to learn new techniques and follow direction from supervisors.
Reliable, punctual, and able to adapt to varying job site conditions and tasks.

Work Environment
This role operates primarily in basements and construction sites that may be wet, dirty, and physically demanding. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
