This position focuses on line support, process optimization, and continuous improvement, while also contributing to future facility expansion, capital projects, and the development and enhancement of work instructions and standard operating procedures.
Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day support for assembly manufacturing lines, ensuring teams have the necessary tools, materials, and information to complete work correctly and efficiently.
Evaluate existing production processes to identify issues, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities related to quality, throughput, safety, and ergonomics.
Develop, update, and maintain clear and accurate work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to support consistent and repeatable production.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan future layouts, equipment needs, materials flow, and processes for a second building and additional lines.
Lead and support capital expenditure (CapEx) projects, including defining requirements, evaluating options, and assisting with implementation and validation of new equipment and systems.
Apply lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies to drive process optimization and waste reduction across the production lines.
Conduct time studies and workflow analyses to improve efficiency, balance workloads, and optimize labor and equipment utilization.
Perform root cause failure analysis on production issues and defects, and implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce recurrence.
Use FMEA and other structured problem-solving tools to assess process risks and improve process robustness and reliability.
Analyze and track key performance indicators, including defect rates, production output, utilization, scrap, and yield, to support data-driven decision-making.
Implement and sustain 5S practices and other lean tools on the production floor to maintain an organized, safe, and efficient work environment.
Support the development, improvement, and standardization of processes and procedures, with a focus on enhancing existing methods while also creating new ones as needed.
Collaborate closely with production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment on goals, priorities, and process changes.
