Job Description
The Safety Manager will oversee construction safety activities for a roofing anchor installation project, ensuring strict compliance with OSHA standards and site-specific safety requirements. This role focuses on managing subcontractor safety performance, leading daily safety meetings, and maintaining thorough safety documentation and communication.
Responsibilities
Oversee all safety aspects of subcontractor activities related to roofing anchor installation on a construction site.
Ensure full compliance with OSHA regulations and site-specific safety policies at all times.
Conduct daily safety meetings and toolbox talks to reinforce safe work practices and address current site hazards.
Monitor construction activities in the field and proactively identify, assess, and mitigate safety risks.
Manage subcontractor safety performance, including coaching and corrective actions when necessary.
Coordinate and schedule safety-related meetings and reviews with project stakeholders.
Provide safety training and guidance to subcontractor personnel to promote a strong safety culture.
Perform regular safety inspections and audits to verify adherence to safety procedures and standards.
Oversee quality control and quality assurance as they relate to safety protocols and safe work execution.
Maintain accurate and timely safety documentation, including reports, checklists, and incident records.
Complete required paperwork, scheduling, and daily updates for project stakeholders.
Collaborate with construction management to integrate safety requirements into project planning and execution.
Support safe work practices around solar panel-related activities when applicable, even if not the primary project focus.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 5 years of safety experience working on a construction site or within an industrial plant environment.
OSHA 30 certification.
OSHA 510 certification.
Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
Demonstrated experience in safety management on active construction projects.
Proven ability to conduct effective daily safety meetings and toolbox talks.
Experience in subcontractor management with a focus on safety performance and compliance.
Hands-on experience with safety training and coaching in a construction or industrial setting.
Proficiency in safety management practices including hazard identification, risk mitigation, and incident prevention.
Experience with quality control and quality assurance processes as they relate to safe work practices.
Strong communication skills for delivering clear safety messages and written updates.
Organizational skills to handle scheduling, documentation, and regular reporting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in construction management or working closely with construction management teams.
Experience in managing safety on projects involving roofing or elevated work activities.
Familiarity with solar panel or solar project environments is a plus, but not required.
Ability to coordinate and schedule meetings with multiple project stakeholders.
Experience working in or around industrial plant facilities.
Attention to detail in safety documentation, quality assurance, and reporting.
Work Environment
This is an on-site role based in a project trailer at a large industrial plant. You will spend time both in the trailer handling paperwork, scheduling, and daily updates, and in the field overseeing subcontractor activities and conducting safety checks. The environment is construction- and industrial-focused, with active work areas, heavy equipment, and roofing operations. Work follows the project schedule, and you will regularly interact with subcontractors and project stakeholders. Appropriate safety attire and personal protective equipment are required in field areas in accordance with site and OSHA standards.

This is a Contract position based out of Ontario, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
