Job Title: Construction Materials TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Construction Materials Technician to perform field testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and masonry in compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, and DOT standards. The role involves reviewing plans, documenting field observations, and entering data daily using Metafield and similar systems. You will communicate results with project managers, contractors, and clients while maintaining and calibrating testing equipment.

Responsibilities

Conduct field testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and masonry according to ASTM, AASHTO, and DOT standards.

Review construction plans and document field observations and test results.

Enter data daily into Metafield and similar systems.

Communicate test results with project managers, contractors, and clients.

Maintain and calibrate testing equipment.

Essential Skills

ACI Certification required.

2+ years of construction materials testing experience preferred.

Ability to lift 40-50 lbs. and work on active construction sites.

Willingness to travel overnight for short assignments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

NCDOT and ICC certifications strongly preferred.

Experience with soil sampling, soil testing, concrete inspection, and concrete testing.

Skills in report writing, nuclear density, and soil compaction.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
