The Lead Process Excellence Specialist anticipates issues and problems, proactively defines risk management measures, and works to continually apply best practices for the improvement of overall methodologies with minimal guidance. Effectively develops clear and specific objectives for targeted opportunities. Partners with the entire department leadership team and process owners to achieve the stated deliverables and objectives. Recommends resources toward the application of standard and advanced approaches and technologies to significantly improve processes and / or systems. This position utilizes existing knowledge and expertise of internal or external business issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Continuous Improvement and Lean:
Manage the development and implementation of process management methods to improve the results of the department using the continuous improvement toolbox. (Project Management, Lean, Business Process Management, Knowledge Management etc.)
Leads cross functionally to identify problems and facilitate solution generation, consults with experts to solve advanced problems
Integrates best practices and thinking into tasks, work products, and processes
Facilitates process improvements and standard work to enable high quality and efficiency at the total lowest cost to Swagelok
Provides coaching and mentoring to others; may mentor and coach others about best practices and functional concepts
Systems Thinking and Process Orientation:
Interprets customer needs, assesses requirements, and identifies solutions to non-standard requests
Anticipates and initiates change, responding resourcefully and constructively to overcome barriers to change
Recognizes interdependencies among products, processes, programs, and services and leverages them to the benefit of Swagelok
Balances a variety of ideas, experiences, and innovations with prudence and good judgment to develop significant improvements
Demonstrates a functional understanding of the processes within the global organization and a good understanding of those deployed across Swagelok Company
Process Management and Department Metrics:
Facilitates the analysis, plans and procedure development to assess overall health and improve the operational effectiveness of the department through process maturity improvements.
Leads the identification of patterns and trends in data and selects from a range of problem solving techniques
Education and Work Experience Requirements:
Required:
Education: 4-year degree in a business or engineering discipline or equivalent work experience required
Experience: 10 years of related experience to include 7+ years of leading large improvement initiatives or projects
Skills/Knowledge:
Has expert knowledge and insight of the theories, methodologies, practices, and procedures related to process management, lean and continuous improvement,
Business Process Management:process design, optimization, governance, measurement, and continuous improvement practices
Knowledge of project and risk management methodology
Fully capable of understanding and analyzing data trends
Analytical capabilities to manage metric and solution development, related to overall departmental health
Fully capable of performing effectively with limited supervision
Preferred Skills/Knowledge:
Knowledge Management: Ability to design and sustain knowledge management practices that make information easy to find, reuse, and improve.
Experience using Microsoft 365 as a platform for process improvement, automation, and information management.

Working conditions and/or Physical Requirements
Working conditions associated with normal office environment.
Ability to operate standard office equipment (e.g., computer, telephone, copier, printer, etc.).

Ability to traverse between multiple locations in Ohio and Pennsylvania as needed.
