Job Description**
The Expediter coordinates product and order flow across multiple manufacturing buildings to ensure that every order moves efficiently through the production process. This role combines significant time on the shop floor tracking parts and orders with desk-based work updating systems and schedules. The Expediter serves as a key link between production activities and planning, helping to identify priorities, resolve delays, and keep stakeholders informed of order status.
Responsibilities
Coordinate product and order flow across all three manufacturing buildings to support on-time production and delivery.
Participate in a daily morning meeting with the team to review production schedules, identify priority orders, and determine urgent needs.
Spend approximately 75% of the day on the shop floor tracking orders, parts, and materials throughout the manufacturing process.
Monitor the progress of each order on the shop floor and ensure products move smoothly through each production stage.
Identify potential delays or bottlenecks in the manufacturing process and communicate them promptly to manufacturing supervisors.
Work closely with manufacturing supervisors to coordinate the movement of products and adjust schedules based on real-time production conditions.
Schedule orders based on product requirements, capacity, and movement within the manufacturing floor to optimize workflow.
Spend approximately 25% of the day at a desk updating Excel documents and the ERP system with accurate order status and location information.
Maintain up-to-date records of inventory, order progress, and shipment planning within the ERP system.
Support inventory management by tracking materials and ensuring the right parts are available for production when needed.
Assist with scheduling and planning orders or shipments to meet customer and production timelines.
Perform data entry tasks related to inventory, shipping and receiving, and order status in the ERP system and other tools.
Communicate clearly and professionally with supervisors, production staff, and other internal stakeholders about order priorities and status updates.
Essential Skills
Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Hands-on experience with inventory management.
Experience using ERP systems in a production or inventory setting.
Experience scheduling and planning orders or shipments.
Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with supervisors and production teams.
Ability to work comfortably on the shop floor for the majority of the workday.
Proficiency with computers and the ability to learn and use business systems such as ERP platforms.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience using Microsoft Excel for tracking orders, inventory, or production data.
Customer service experience, particularly in roles involving order coordination or communication with internal or external stakeholders.
Previous experience in roles involving expediting materials, production planning, or coordinating shipping and receiving activities.
Familiarity with data entry processes related to inventory, shipping, and production records.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills when managing multiple orders and priorities.

Work Environment
This is a full-time role scheduled Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with an expected 3 to 5 hours of overtime per week. Approximately 75% of the workday takes place on the manufacturing shop floor, where multiple pieces of equipment run continuously, creating a hot and very loud environment that requires comfort with industrial conditions and appropriate safety gear. The remaining 25% of the day is spent at a desk working on a computer, updating the ERP system and Excel documents. The role involves moving between three different buildings, interacting frequently with production staff and supervisors, and working in a fast-paced setting where priorities can shift based on real-time production needs.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
