Job Title: Assistant Masker
Job Description
The Assistant Masker packages and wraps finished aerospace products while supporting masking operations in a fast-paced production environment. You will work as part of a collaborative team, helping wherever needed on the shop floor and in the warehouse. This role offers an excellent entry point into the aerospace finishing industry, with opportunities to cross-train in packaging, masking, anodizing, and plating for potential long-term growth.
Responsibilities
Package and wrap finished aerospace products according to written instructions and established procedures.
Assist with masking parts for various metal finishing processes, including anodizing, plating, and coating, as needed.
Follow detailed written work instructions, job travelers, and production documentation accurately.
Support cross-training efforts by learning both packaging and masking tasks to provide flexibility across departments.
Work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment to meet daily output and quality goals.
Handle parts and materials carefully to prevent damage and ensure they meet quality and customer requirements.
Perform general shop duties outside of the warehouse, including cleaning, organizing, and maintaining a safe and orderly work area.
Operate production or packaging machinery as required, using prior machine operator experience to support manufacturing operations.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors, communicate issues promptly, and assist wherever needed on the production floor.
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working around manufacturing equipment and metal finishing processes.
Essential Skills
Ability to read and follow written instructions accurately.
Previous experience working in a fast-paced production facility.
Willingness to perform other shop duties outside of the warehouse, including clean-up and general support tasks.
Machine operator experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to help in different areas as needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Forklift certification is a plus and may be used to move materials and finished products.
Experience in general manufacturing, assembly, or production environments.
Interest in cross-training across packaging, masking, anodizing, and plating operations.
Comfort working around metal finishing, coating, and testing processes.

Work Environment
The role is based in a spacious, modern metal finishing and plating facility that supports aerospace, defense, commercial, industrial, recreational, and electronics markets across North America and Europe. The site operates as a high-volume, fast-paced production environment and utilizes Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement practices. You will be around a wide range of processes, including mechanical operations such as shot peening, polishing, and abrasive blasting; aluminum processing such as multiple anodize chemistries, chemical conversion coating, and hard anodize; electrolytic plating including chrome, titanium cadmium, cadmium, zinc-nickel, and other finishes; coatings and paints such as primers, fuel tank coatings, topcoats, dry lubricants, and intumescent coatings; non-destructive testing such as fluorescent penetrant, magnetic particle, and nital etch; and additional processes including zinc spray, magnesium processing, and passivation. The environment is production-oriented, with typical manufacturing noise and activity, and requires adherence to safety procedures and appropriate shop attire and protective equipment while working around machinery, chemicals, and finishing equipment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.
