Job Title: Maintenance Technician (Entry Level)
Job Description
This role focuses on maintaining and repairing production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment that produces corrugated paper packaging. You will perform mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical repairs, support troubleshooting activities, and carry out preventive maintenance to keep corrugators, die cutters, conveyors, and converting equipment running reliably and safely. You will use a maintenance system to document work and will follow established safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, while working in a clean, climate-controlled facility.
Responsibilities
Perform basic mechanical repairs on corrugators, die cutters, conveyors, and converting equipment to maintain reliable operation.
Assist with troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, and minor electrical issues to quickly identify and resolve equipment problems.
Complete preventive maintenance tasks on production equipment to reduce unplanned downtime and extend equipment life.
Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to perform repairs, adjustments, and component replacements.
Follow established safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections accurately in the maintenance system (CMMS) for traceability and planning.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals to diagnose issues and execute repairs correctly.
Support electrical troubleshooting tasks, including working with 3-phase power and PLC-controlled equipment under guidance as needed.
Assist in diagnosing issues related to hydraulics and pneumatics and perform necessary maintenance and repairs.
Collaborate with production and other maintenance team members to prioritize work and minimize production interruptions.
Essential Skills
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and comfort using a variety of hand tools and power tools.
Trade-school coursework or hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, automotive, HVAC, machining, or similar technical fields.
Basic understanding of electrical systems, including 3-phase power, and the ability to assist with electrical troubleshooting.
Basic knowledge of pneumatic systems and components and their application in industrial equipment.
Ability to perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on industrial machinery in a manufacturing environment.
Experience or exposure to mechanical, electrical, repair, diagnosis, troubleshooting, maintenance, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical or mechanical schematics to support troubleshooting and repair activities.
Comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment around operating machinery and conveyors.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately document work performed in a maintenance system.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working with corrugated or other high-speed manufacturing equipment.
Familiarity with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for logging and tracking maintenance work.
Exposure to PLC controls and PLC troubleshooting in an industrial setting.
Experience with electrical maintenance, including electrical troubleshooting and maintenance repair.
Basic fabrication skills, such as light welding, cutting, or modifying components, are beneficial.
Prior experience as a maintenance technician or in industrial maintenance environments.
Ability to interpret and work from equipment manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn new technologies and equipment.

Work Environment
The facility is a climate-controlled and clean manufacturing environment dedicated to producing corrugated paper boxes for packaging. The production floor includes corrugators, die cutters, conveyors, and other high-speed converting equipment. Noise levels can be higher near the machines, while the majority of the floor remains relatively quiet and comfortable. You will work around moving equipment and conveyors, using hand tools, power tools, and maintenance systems to perform your duties. The role involves being on the production floor for much of the shift, collaborating closely with production and maintenance teams in a structured, safety-focused setting.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.89 - $28.89/hr.
