Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to support daily financial operations for a Contract position based in Williamsburg, Michigan. This role focuses on reviewing incoming invoices, assigning accurate coding, and helping ensure vendor payments are completed on schedule. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable handling routine accounts payable tasks with accuracy and consistency.

Responsibilities:

Review vendor invoices for completeness and enter payment details accurately into the accounting system.

Apply correct general ledger coding to invoices and supporting documentation before processing.

Prepare and assist with scheduled check runs to support timely vendor payments.

Verify invoice information against purchase records or approvals and resolve basic discrepancies.

Maintain organized accounts payable files and ensure documentation is retained for audit and reporting needs.

Communicate with internal teams and vendors regarding payment status, missing details, or invoice questions. Requirements - Exposure to or interest in accounts payable processes and invoice handling.

Ability to code invoices accurately and follow established financial procedures.

Familiarity with check run support and payment processing tasks.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage repetitive work accurately.

Basic computer proficiency and comfort working with accounting or data entry systems.

Good written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with vendors and internal staff.
