Job Description
The Assembly Line Truss Builder fabricates roof and floor trusses using lumber, power tools, and production equipment in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment. You will cut, assemble, and secure lumber components to create structural trusses for residential and commercial construction. This entry-level position offers comprehensive on-the-job training and requires accuracy, physical stamina, and a strong commitment to working safely with tools and machinery.
Responsibilities
Build roof and floor trusses by placing lumber into jigs, positioning plates, and securing components using hydraulic or pneumatic presses.
Operate saws, nail guns, hammers, tape measures, and automated machinery to complete production tasks efficiently and safely.
Inspect incoming materials and finished trusses for accuracy, structural integrity, and compliance with production specifications.
Read and follow engineered drawings, blueprints, cut sheets, and work orders to ensure precise assembly and correct dimensions.
Follow all safety procedures, including OSHA guidelines, proper use of personal protective equipment, and safe handling of tools and machinery.
Maintain production pace in line with daily schedules and collaborate closely with team members to meet output goals.
Move and stage lumber, stack and band finished trusses, and maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area throughout the shift.
Use measuring devices to verify dimensions and ensure that all components meet required tolerances.
Assist with basic equipment checks and communicate any issues with tools, machinery, or materials to the appropriate personnel.
Essential Skills
Mechanical aptitude and the ability to work confidently with tools, machinery, and measuring devices.
Physical strength and stamina to lift 50-75 lbs regularly and to stand, bend, and move throughout the shift.
Ability to read and follow engineered drawings, blueprints, cut sheets, and detailed work instructions.
Basic math skills to measure lumber, calculate lengths, and verify dimensions accurately.
Strong attention to detail to follow precise measurements and assembly instructions.
Effective teamwork skills, including clear communication and collaboration in a production environment.
Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing setting while following all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Construction or carpentry background, including framing, rough carpentry, or trim work.
Experience in manufacturing or assembly line work, particularly in building materials or millwork production.
Hands-on experience with power tools such as nail guns, circular saws, and drills, as well as common hand tools.
Familiarity with construction-related tasks such as drywall, concrete, demolition, metal stud installation, and door installation.
Experience using tape measures and other measuring tools with a high degree of accuracy.
Comfort working with building materials and components in a production or jobsite environment.
Willingness to learn new equipment and processes through on-the-job training.

Work Environment
You will work in a fast-paced, indoor manufacturing facility focused on high-volume truss production. The environment includes exposure to noise, sawdust, and moving machinery, and you will regularly handle lumber and building materials. Personal protective equipment such as gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection is required and used throughout the shift. The role is physically active, involving frequent lifting, standing, bending, and movement across the production floor while operating hand tools, power tools, and automated equipment in a team-driven setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Woodland, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
