TheAttorney 1/2/3/4 will provide direction, advice, assistance, and consultation to the Assistant Secretary of the Office of Workers' Compensation Administration (OWCA), the Deputy Assistant Secretary, and the Administrative Program Manager over the Second Injury Board on programmatic, technical, and legal issues to ensure compliance with the Office of the Attorney General and state laws.
TheOffice of Workers' Compensation Administration (OWCA) in Louisiana oversees the enforcement and administration of workers' compensation laws, aiming to support early return-to-work efforts and improve workplace safety. The department manages disputed claims, conducts hearings, reviews medical treatment disputes, and investigates fraud through collaborative efforts like the GAME ON task force.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Details:
-Reviews medical records; drafts motions and memoranda; attends depositions; and represents the Office of Workers' Compensation Administration (OWCA), including the Fraud Section and Second Injury Board, at hearings in district courts and workers' compensation courts throughout the State of Louisiana. Travels to depositions, court hearings, and other legal proceedings as required.
-Manages a caseload involving OWCA litigation, including Fraud Section matters, Second Injury Board cases, and appeals.
-Responds to discovery requests and subpoenas in a timely and legally compliant manner.
-Interprets and analyzes complex legal documents, statutes, regulations, and case law.
-Drafts legal memoranda related to non-litigated workers' compensation matters.
