Summary About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Special Operations Command - South, Intelligence Directorate (SOCSO-J2), Homestead AFB, FL, 33039. Responsibilities Serves as the command's principal technical authority and Senior Intelligence Specialist for Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) and Cryptologic Support Element (CSE) Chief. Provides authoritative direction and expert guidance on Special Operations Forces (SOF) SIGINT capabilities, concepts of operation, and policy. Serves as the command's recognized authority and subject matter expert on all SIGINT activities. Serves as the technical leader and senior SOF SIGINT advisor to the Commander SOCSOUTH for matters in Latin America Formulates and implements innovative solutions to resolve major regional analysis and collection gaps, enhancing analytic collaboration across national agencies and SOF elements. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one (1) year of experience to the next lower grade (GG/GS-12) which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Managing Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) production; 2) Utilizing analytic techniques, including social network exploitation; AND 3) Implementing changes to SIGINT posture and resource allocation. Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
