The Accounts Receivable Accounting Clerk is responsible for accurate and timely processing of accounts receivable transactions and data entry within the company's ERP system. This role supports the accounting team by maintaining customer accounts, posting transactions, and ensuring financial records are complete, accurate, and up to date. The position also collaborates with the sales department by assisting with the quoting process. The ideal candidate works comfortably in a fast-paced environment, is highly detail oriented, and is confident using accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
Responsibilities
Process accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner within the company's ERP or accounting system.
Maintain and update customer account information to ensure records are current, complete, and accurate.
Post payments, credits, and adjustments to customer accounts and verify that all entries are properly recorded.
Perform high-volume data entry with strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Assist with generating, reviewing, and distributing customer invoices.
Support the accounting team by helping to reconcile accounts receivable records and resolve discrepancies.
Collaborate with the sales department by assisting with the quoting process and providing necessary account or billing information.
Use Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications to prepare, update, and maintain accounting and reporting documents.
Follow established accounting procedures and basic accounts receivable principles in daily work.
Communicate professionally with internal teams and, when needed, provide support related to customer receivables.
Essential Skills
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 1 year of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or data entry (accounts receivable experience preferred).
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Experience working with an ERP or accounting system such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks, or a similar platform.
Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Basic understanding of accounts receivable principles and processes.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.
Prior hands-on accounts receivable experience is a plus.
Familiarity with invoicing and receivables processes.
Comfort working with various ERP and accounting systems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with both accounting and sales teams.
Work Environment
This is an in-office role within an accounting department that supports multiple companies located in an industrial park. The Accounts Receivable Accounting Clerk works closely with the accounting team and collaborates regularly with the sales department. The environment is fast paced and growth oriented, with the organization actively expanding and having recently onboarded a significant number of new team members. Work is performed on standard office equipment, including computers running an ERP or accounting system and Microsoft Office applications. The role follows a traditional office setting with professional conduct and attire appropriate for a corporate accounting environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Massillon, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
