Job Title: Manufacturing Technician
Job Description
As a Manufacturing Technician, you will support all aspects of the thin film manufacturing process, including coating, metrology, fabrication, parts cleaning, and assembly. You will be involved in incoming and final inspection, data interpretation, and data entry, while ensuring a commitment to safety, quality, accuracy, and excellence through continuous improvement and performance. You will collaborate as a team player across all operations and manufacturing departments, following instructions and procedures precisely and offering suggestions for improvements. Handling fragile products and maintaining housekeeping, sanitation, and GMP requirements are essential aspects of this role.
Responsibilities
Perform product and machine inspections and analyze data, reporting abnormalities as needed.
Assemble fixtures, parts, and tooling, and calibrate tools and machines.
Clean products, parts, tooling, machines, and work areas.
Adhere to company quality, environmental, sustainability policies, and safety programs.
Utilize Microsoft Suite and other manufacturing programs.
Maintain satisfactory attendance and timeliness.
Essential Skills
Experience in thin film manufacturing or any manufacturing environment.
Knowledge in optical coating, metrology, disposition, cleaning, parts assembly, and fabrication.
Mechanical or scientific aptitude and interest.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, and material management systems.
Ability to read, comprehend, and execute detailed instructions and correspondence.
Familiarity with quality, environmental, and safety programs/standards such as ISO 9001 and CAL OSHA.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Some college education in STEM disciplines, preferably mechanical, industrial, or electrical engineering, or physics.
Self-starter who works well alone and with limited supervision.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing methods and tools.
Certified forklift driver.

Work Environment
Work in a moderate temperature and noise-level manufacturing environment. You will be required to handle delicate optical components and precision tools while adhering to contamination control and handling protocols. The role requires physical capability for tasks such as reaching, stooping, standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, squatting, and ladder work. You should be comfortable working with solvents, cleaning agents, lasers, sharp instruments, and high-temperature equipment, following safety protocols. Visual acuity for close and mid-range tasks is necessary, and you may need to wear protective gear such as respirators, hairnets, face masks, gloves, and clean room suits. The ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 35 pounds is occasionally required.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.
