This role focuses on performing line and overnight hangar maintenance on Boeing Dreamlifter (747-400) aircraft at the Charleston (CHS) airport within a Boeing facility. You will support routine and unscheduled maintenance, receive basic inspection training, and contribute to safe and efficient aircraft operations in a fast-paced air cargo environment. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity after approximately six months.
Responsibilities
Perform line maintenance on Boeing Dreamlifter (747-400) aircraft at the Charleston (CHS) airport, ensuring safe and timely turnaround of aircraft.
Carry out overnight hangar maintenance tasks, including routine checks, troubleshooting, and corrective actions as required.
Support maintenance activities on additional Boeing models such as the 737, 777, and 787, as applicable to operational needs.
Use approved maintenance procedures and documentation to inspect, repair, and service airframe and powerplant systems.
Assist with and participate in basic inspection training to expand capabilities and ensure compliance with maintenance standards.
Collaborate with other technicians and station personnel to coordinate work, share technical information, and maintain high safety and quality standards.
Follow all facility, airport, and regulatory safety requirements while working on the ramp, in the hangar, and within the Boeing facility.
Document all maintenance activities accurately and legibly in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition.
Support a rotating schedule, including night shifts, and remain flexible to meet operational demands.
Obtain and maintain the required Boeing badge and airport access credentials to perform all assigned duties on site.
Essential Skills
Ability to obtain and maintain a Boeing badge and meet all associated security and access requirements.
Possession of an Airframe license (A license) required for performing airframe maintenance tasks.
Experience working as an aircraft technician performing line and/or hangar maintenance.
Familiarity with Boeing aircraft, with preference for experience on Boeing 747, 737, 777, or 787 models or regional aircraft.
Capability to perform powerplant and airframe maintenance tasks in accordance with approved procedures.
Willingness and ability to work night shifts, including typical schedules such as 6 p.m. to 4 a.m. or 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Readiness to work a rotating 4-on, 3-off schedule and remain open to both day and night shifts as needed.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and regulatory compliance in all maintenance activities.
Ability to work effectively as part of a maintenance team in a busy line and hangar environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
A&P license is a strong plus and may expand the scope of maintenance tasks you can perform.
Mid-level maintenance experience is welcome; experience with any Boeing model or regional aircraft is preferred.
Experience as a powerplant mechanic or in a similar aircraft maintenance role is beneficial.
Previous exposure to air cargo operations or line maintenance at a commercial airport is an advantage.
Interest in growing within a station that is expanding its team and capabilities.

Work Environment
The role is based at the Charleston (CHS) airport within a Boeing facility, supporting line and hangar maintenance on cargo aircraft. You will work in both ramp and hangar settings, handling night shifts typically from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m. or from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., on a 4-on, 3-off schedule with the need to remain open to both day and night shifts as operational needs change. The station has been operating since 2021, is growing from approximately 19 technicians to around 27-29, and supports a busy air cargo contract with increasing maintenance demand. You will work around active aircraft, ground support equipment, and standard aviation maintenance tools in a professional maintenance environment that emphasizes safety, teamwork, and reliability.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $38.00/hr.
