Kelly Services is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Mechanic in Waukegan, IL. Candidate must have experience with:
Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical wiring, PLCs, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
3-5 years of hands-on experience in a multi-craft maintenance role within a manufacturing environment.
Electrical expertise, including reading schematics, wiring control circuits, working with 480V 3-phase systems, PLCs (Allen Bradley), VFDs, and understanding basic electrical code compliance.
Ability to use hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and precision measuring instruments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues quickly and effectively.

Pay: $33 - $50/hr, depending on experience

6am - 3pm
2pm - 11pm

Job duties
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on a variety of manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems, including liquid filling equipment, bearings, gears, sprockets, precision alignments, and perform fabrication welding as needed.
Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including pumps, cylinders, valves, and associated mounting equipment.
Diagnose equipment failures, conduct root-cause analysis, and execute preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
Follow manufacturer manuals, blueprints, schematics, and work instructions to guide repairs and installations.
Install, align, and test new machinery and equipment.
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using CMMS or other tracking systems.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
Provide support during audits by ensuring equipment documentation and maintenance records are up to date.
Assist in training junior maintenance staff and sharing technical knowledge across departments.
Experience/Education needed
High School Diploma or G.E.D required
Technical certification or associate degree preferred
3-5 years of hands-on experience in a multi-craft maintenance role within a manufacturing environment.
Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical wiring, PLCs, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Experience with automated equipment, including robotics and PLC-controlled machinery, is highly desirable.
Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide range of production equipment, such as motors, Viking mechanical pumps, ARO diaphragm pumps, conveyors, compressors, chillers, liquid filling machines, automatic cappers, and labelers (Videojet, Quadrel, Tronics).
