Customer Service Representative (Healthcare Call Center)
Lake Bluff, IL (Hybrid - Onsite Tues/Wed, Remote Mon/Thurs/Fri)
$18/hour | Contract-to-Hire (6 months+)
Overview
We are hiring Customer Service Representatives to support a leading healthcare organization, Fresenius Medical Care. This role is ideal for candidates with customer service or call center experience who are looking to grow in a healthcare-focused environment.
You'll act as a key point of contact for clients, providing support, resolving issues, and ensuring accurate communication of critical information.
What You'll Be Doing
Handle high-volume inbound calls from clients and internal teams
Provide support on patient accounts, test results, and documentation requests
Investigate and resolve customer issues while ensuring timely follow-up
Communicate abnormal test results, patient updates, and required actions
Assist with questions on test status, requirements, and specimen handling
Process updates to requisitions and patient information
Document all interactions accurately in internal systems
Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Clinical Support, Operations)
Escalate complex issues when needed
Schedule
Training: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Post-Training Shift: Typically 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM
Hybrid Schedule:
Onsite: Tuesday & Wednesday
Remote: Monday, Thursday, Friday
What We're Looking For
Must Have:
High School Diploma or GED
1+ year of customer service or call center experience
Strong computer skills (Excel, Outlook, CRM systems)
Excellent communication and active listening skills
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
Healthcare experience (call center or patient support)
Knowledge of medical terminology, Medicare, Medicaid, or patient accounts
Experience with collections, medical billing, or accounts receivable

Pay and Benefits
