Compensation Plan: Depending on qualifications/experience, this opportunity can offer up to a base salary of $100,000 plus yearly bonus.

JOB DESCRIPTION
In cooperation with all Teams, the Safety Manager - Construction/Industrial will be responsible for the continuous development of Safety Policies and Procedures as well as effective implementation of these policies. This position is ultimately responsible for having an effective workplace safety program and culture in place. This role directs the resources and activities of the organization to support the Health and Safety programs by providing advice and guidance to employees at all levels of the organization. This position has a significant influence on the company's overall performance in the areas of Health and Safety.
Essential Functions:
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
In coordination with management, direct all aspects of the health and safety program to ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, DOT and all other State and Federal regulations. Develop and implement job specific training.
Develop and implement a continuous employee safety education program to include company-wide safety meetings, supervisory meetings, toolbox talks, etc.
In coordination with HR administer the Return-to-Work Program.
Develop, implement, and maintain standard policies and procedures for health and safety.
Assure company and employee compliance to safety and governmental regulations.
In coordination with HR, timely respond to any citations.
Appropriately manage Work Comp, with an emphasis on lowering incident rates, reducing time lost and overall costs.
Manage the Company's Emergency Response Team (ERT).
Direct and conduct the following:
Monthly Safety Committee meetings.
Accident investigations.
Witness investigations.
Risk assessments.
Jobsite Safety Audits.
Shop safety audits and inspections.
Participate in Project Kick-off meetings to assist with and prepare Site Specific Safety Plans.
Track and report safety performance on a monthly basis (i.e. - accidents, near misses, safety alerts, incidents, citations, etc.).
Implement and maintain a schedule for site visit safety audits - both announced and unannounced.
Maintain and share knowledge of changing industry standards, compliance and trends.
Manage company's DOT program including keeping timely documentation.
Point person for OSHA inspections, Fire Inspections, etc.
Manage Company's Respirator Fit Test and Hygiene Assessment programs.
Skills/Abilities:
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to travel with short notice and at times up to 25% to other company locations (OK and SC) on a quarterly basis and jobsite as needed.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written (training/presentations/report writing).
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization.
Ability to work with customers, other safety professionals, MSHA/OSHA inspectors, etc. in a timely and professional manner.
Ability to work with a diverse set of personalities.
Ability to multi-task.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Sciences, or a related field is a plus.
Experience working in a construction/industrial @type setting.
Familiarity with OSHA 1926, OSHA 1910, MSHA and DOT with the ability to interpret standards.
Safety Related Credentials - ASP, CSP, CHST, OSHA, MSHA, or other - is a plus.
