Kelly Services is partnering with a rapidly growing manufacturing organization seeking a strategic and driven Senior Buyer to join their procurement team in Waukegan, IL. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced purchasing professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys negotiating, supplier management, forecasting, and driving supply chain excellence.

What You'll Do
As a Senior Buyer, you'll play a key role in supporting production operations by ensuring raw materials and components are sourced efficiently, delivered on time, and purchased at the best value.
Key Responsibilities
Source raw materials and components through domestic and international supplier networks
Negotiate pricing, contracts, delivery terms, and supplier agreements
Manage purchasing activities, forecasts, inventory levels, and material planning
Coordinate purchase orders and monitor supplier performance to ensure on-time delivery
Partner with planning, production, quality, and operations teams to support manufacturing goals
Resolve supplier, delivery, quality, and inventory issues proactively
Analyze costs and identify opportunities for savings and process improvements
Maintain supplier relationships and support ongoing supplier performance programs
Support R&D and new product initiatives with item setup and sourcing coordination
Manage procurement reporting, open PO tracking, and inventory optimization efforts
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field preferred
5-8 years of purchasing, procurement, or strategic sourcing experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
Chemical purchasing experience highly preferred
Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
Experience with MRP/ERP systems and inventory planning
Advanced Microsoft Excel and analytical skills
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
APICS or CPM certification is a plus
