A Brief Summary of This Position:
Reporting to the Director Reporting and Administration Controllership, this position is responsible for the creation, review, and monitoring of accounting performance (accounting & operational) reporting. This includes the creation and data gathering of reports, charts and diagrams that provide a basis for comparison and evaluation for accounting monitoring controls of key metrics. This position is also responsible for providing ad hoc reporting to support accounting metrics, monitoring of controls, and benchmarking of sites. Other responsibilities include timely and accurate completion of the monthly book close process (POC revenue recognition data collection) and monitoring reporting controls.
Essential Functions:
· This position reports into the Director Reporting and Administration Controllership and has no direct or indirect reports
· Up to 10% travel (domestic and international) including overnight stays
· This position assists the controllership group with data collection for reporting/ monitoring purposes. Acts as a liaison between controllership and information technology for $2B+ in sales
· Develop and monitor process controls for key business risks to the financial statements and compliance with Valmont, SEC and other regulations
· Translate business requirements into the design and development of data models and reports, and ensure accuracy and accuracy of data
· Document and assess the effectiveness and efficiency of current reporting processes for automation
· Assist with cost and inventory report generation for operations management (ie. Scorecard)
· Maintain training with current Valmont applications (DataBricks, PowerBI, Visual Basic, Alteryx, ChatGPT and software to drive innovations and automation to the controllership group.
Required Qualifications of Every Candidate:
· Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Information Technology or related discipline along with 3+ years relevant experience
· Candidate needs both IT and Business education
· High proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications with advanced Excel and Visual Basic along with ChatGPT and An
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of the organization
· Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure and meet deadlines
· Highly motivated and self-directed worker with the ability to work independently within the @context of a complex matrix organization
· Ability to travel up to 10% to Valmont domestic and international sites requiring overnight stays
Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:
· Master's Degree in Accounting, Business, Information Technology or a related discipline
· 3+ years of experience in working with data/ reporting in DataBricks, PowerBI, Alteryx and Visual Basic
· 3+ years with hands-on experience transforming raw data in the system to business reporting
· 3+ years in business analysis with a SEC publicly traded company
Working Environment and Physical Efforts:
Work is typically performed in an office setting. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. Travel to domestic and international sites up to 10% includes overnight stays. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
