Job Title: 2nd Shift Production Associate
Job Description
The 2nd Shift Production Associate works on a manufacturing line producing automotive materials, focusing on quality, data collection, and consistent production output. You will monitor each roll of material, record detailed production data, and help ensure that every product meets established quality standards. This role requires comfort with repetitive tasks, basic math and measurements, and extensive use of Excel and other computer applications to document and track production information.
Responsibilities
Operate and monitor the manufacturing line for automotive materials during the 2nd shift.
Collect and record data for every roll of material produced, using both paper documentation and internal systems.
Assess material quality throughout production and ensure products meet established quality standards.
Identify and report any quality defects or process issues in a timely manner.
Perform basic measurements and simple math calculations to verify product specifications.
Use Excel extensively to enter, track, and analyze production and quality data.
Send emails and communicate effectively using Microsoft Teams and other communication tools.
Collaborate closely with a small team of approximately three colleagues to maintain efficient production flow.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning machines and workspace at the end of each shift.
Participate in preventive maintenance activities, including periodic deep cleaning of machines.
Follow safety guidelines and contribute to continuous and process improvement initiatives on the production line.
Meet attendance and punctuality expectations to support consistent production coverage.
Adapt to working in a fast-paced, repetitive environment while maintaining focus and accuracy.
Essential Skills
Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment, preferably on a production line.
Ability to perform simple math and understand basic measurements.
Computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, as it represents a significant portion of daily tasks.
Ability to send and manage emails in a professional setting.
Familiarity with Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Word for communication and documentation.
Comfort working in a repetitive role and performing the same tasks daily.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and keep pace in a fast-moving production environment.
Strong reliability, including consistent attendance and punctuality.
Ability to work effectively as part of a small team and contribute to a collaborative environment.
Willingness to follow safety procedures and support continuous and process improvement efforts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with safety, continuous improvement, and process improvement practices in a production setting.
Prior experience operating production line equipment or machinery.
Comfort performing cleaning tasks, including routine and deep cleaning of machines and workspaces.
Ability to adapt to changing tasks or priorities within a structured, repetitive environment.
Strong attention to detail when collecting and documenting production and quality data.

Work Environment
This role is based on an enclosed production floor that is not climate controlled, so temperatures may vary with the seasons. The distribution area is located close to production, and bay doors may remain open for truck loading, which can affect airflow and temperature. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Initial training takes place on a day shift schedule (approximately 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday) for about two weeks before transitioning to the regular 2nd shift. New hire orientation is conducted onsite with human resources and lasts approximately four hours. The work involves physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods, as well as end-of-shift cleaning of machines and workspaces and occasional deep cleaning as part of preventive maintenance. The environment emphasizes safety, teamwork, and consistent production in a fast-paced, repetitive setting.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.
