Job Title: 1st Shift Painter Helper
Job Description
This 1st shift Painter Helper position supports an internal industrial painter by preparing materials and equipment for spray painting in a paint booth. You will focus on paint preparation, equipment setup, and accurate documentation of daily work, with the opportunity to grow into a full painter role and take on additional painting tasks over time.
Responsibilities
Prepare materials for industrial painting by sanding, masking, and performing all necessary prep work to ensure proper paint adhesion and finish quality.
Load paint and set up spray equipment, including ensuring the sprayer is correctly configured and ready for use in the paint booth.
Assist the industrial painter in the paint booth by organizing materials, tools, and equipment needed for each job.
Perform basic spray painting tasks under guidance, using industrial spray guns and paint booth equipment as your responsibilities expand.
Support blasting and other industrial paint preparation processes as needed to meet project requirements.
Keep detailed, accurate records of daily tasks, materials used, and work completed to support traceability and quality control.
Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses provided by the employer.
Work effectively as part of a 2-3 person crew, including a foreman, to complete projects on schedule and to quality standards.
Travel to active and inactive manufacturing and industrial facilities within the region as needed to support on-site painting projects.
Essential Skills
At least 2 years of experience as an industrial painter or in an industrial role preparing material for painting.
Hands-on experience with industrial paint preparation, including sanding, masking, and surface preparation.
Familiarity with industrial spray painting processes, including use of spray guns and paint booths.
Ability to support blasting and other industrial paint-related processes.
Strong attention to detail and ability to keep clear, detailed records of daily tasks and materials used.
Capability to work safely in active and inactive manufacturing and industrial environments.
Ability to work effectively in small crews and follow direction from a foreman.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working with industrial paint systems and spray painting in a booth environment.
Comfort working with industrial equipment and tools in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Willingness to travel occasionally, including staying overnight 2-3 nights per month.
Desire to grow into a full industrial painter role and take on expanded responsibilities over time.

Work Environment
This role operates on 1st shift within a small, close-knit team working on active and inactive manufacturing and industrial facilities. The position is based out of the Scholfield location, with most projects within approximately two hours of the main office and occasional overnight travel of 2-3 nights per month. You will typically work in 2-3 person crews, including a foreman, and use industrial painting equipment such as spray guns, paint booths, and blasting tools. Safety glasses are provided, and there is no requirement for certifications, medical monitoring, or steel-toe footwear. The environment combines shop-based paint booth work with field assignments at industrial sites, offering a mix of hands-on preparation and painting tasks in a practical, safety-conscious setting.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
