Ada County Weed, Pest and Mosquito Abatement is an agency that houses three separate and distinct departments. Ada County Noxious Weed Control is supported through the General Fund and provides noxious weed control services throughout Ada County.

POSITION GENERAL SUMMARY:
Works under general supervision to provide responsible administrative assistance for the department. The incumbent is the first point of contact with customers and visitors to the department. The position performs various office support functions and special projects as requested.
Essential Functions
Maintains front office reception area;
Greets and directs visitors and customers to the appropriate staff member;
Operates telephone, screens, routes calls, and takes messages;
Answers general questions about department services and programs;
Coordinates client and work order database;
Tracks employee training in system database;
Orders office supplies and maintains supply inventory;
Schedules meetings and conference rooms;
Prepares invoices and receipts for processing;
Prepares and mails weekly and monthly client statements;
Maintains and reconciles department petty cash.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
Supports Administrative Specialist II and Account Clerk II as needed;
Assists with meeting set up and special projects;
Performs related functions as required.
Job Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent;
Two (2) years of previous secretarial or administrative support experience preferred;
Experience using a multi-line telephone;
Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment;
Knowledge of English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and arithmetic;
Skill in the use of a personal computer with MS Office software;
Ability to provide excellent customer service;
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing;
Ability to follow complex verbal and written directions;
Ability to @type documents and correspondence with accuracy;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers and the general public;
Ability to work with coworkers to accomplish goals;
Ability to effectively handle money (currency, coin and checks) and make proper change.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Work is performed primarily in an office environment and the employee in this class is subject to inside environmental conditions;
Requires sitting at a desk for long periods of time;
May be required to lift up to 20 lbs.;
Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, to permit the employee to function in a general office environment and accomplish tasks.
