Description

Robert Half is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist for a contract opportunity with one of our clients. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong invoice processing, reconciliation, and vendor management experience. The Accounts Payable Specialist will support day-to-day AP functions and help ensure timely and accurate payment processing.

Key Responsibilities:

Process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and efficiently

Review invoices for proper approval and coding

Prepare and execute check runs, ACH, and wire payments

Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies

Respond to vendor inquiries in a professional and timely manner

Maintain accurate accounts payable records and documentation

Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable

Support internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies

Work cross-functionally with accounting, procurement, and other departments

Requirements

Qualifications:

2+ years of accounts payable experience

Strong understanding of AP processes and general accounting principles

Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, QuickBooks, or similar (Source: Q1 2026_The Demand for Skilled Talent.pdf)

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard accounting tools

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a high-volume invoice processing environment

Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field

Experience supporting month-end close
