Position Overview
Carondelet High School (About us) is seeking a full-time Academic and Learning Support (ALS) Case Manager for the 2025-2026 school year. The ALS Case Manager is a central figure in the school's student support ecosystem, ensuring that students with academic and learning needs receive the coordinated, compassionate, and effective support they deserve.
With a caseload of approximately 50-75 students, the ALS Case Manager provides individualized guidance, facilitates access to resources, advocates for appropriate accommodations, and collaborates with teachers, families, and other professionals. Student needs may range from light-touch academic coaching to complex intervention planning. The Case Manager is expected to adapt flexibly to each unique situation.
In addition to meeting with students during unscheduled periods or in before/after-school sessions, the Case Manager may "push in" to existing HFCE course sections to conduct student check-ins and provide support in @context.

Essential Responsibilities
Case Management & Student Support
Lives the mission of the school, in the CSJ tradition, through a thorough knowledge and understanding of the mission, vision, and values of Carondelet High School.

Manage a caseload of approximately 50-75 students, providing academic and learning support for both students with formal academic plans and those identified as at-risk who may need temporary or ongoing intervention.
Conduct regular 1:1 check-ins and small group sessions to review academic progress, set goals, and adjust strategies as needed.
Foster student growth in self-advocacy, time management, executive functioning, and academic confidence.
Review psychoeducational evaluations, recommend accommodations, and develop/maintain formal academic accommodation plans (CAP/CEP) in alignment with school policies.
Collaborate closely with teachers, families, and outside professionals to create and implement individualized support plans.
Proactively identify students who may benefit from further evaluation, intervention, or external support.
Encourage students to understand and act on teacher feedback; monitor academic performance and intervene early when challenges arise.
Recommend and liaise with external tutors, learning specialists, and evaluators as appropriate.
Coordinate and administer extended time accommodations for classroom assessments and standardized testing (e.g., AP, PSAT, HSPT).
Facilitate transitions for incoming ninth-grade students, including coordination with public school districts for assessment records and planning.
Instructional and Curricular Alignment
Maintain working knowledge of curriculum expectations, major assessments, and grading practices across departments-especially in core 9th and 10th grade courses.
Consult Schoology and other LMS tools to stay informed of student assignments and timelines.
Assist students in understanding and responding to teacher feedback and course requirements.
Collaborate with the HFCE Coach to co-strategize support plans and refer students for strategic skill-building.
Collaboration & Intervention Planning
Partner with teachers to identify students in academic distress and co-create support plans.
Participate in weekly ALS team and other academic team meetings (as needed) to review student progress and needs.
Strategize with the ALS Director and broader Student Support team to refine support systems and recommend schoolwide academic initiatives.
Recommend and coordinate tutoring, remediation resources, or external supports where needed.
After-School and Community Programming
Organize and run PowerLab/PowerStart before and after-school programming to support students in real-time.
Engages in strategic support and mandated support programming.
Strategizes with the ALS team on remediation support and outreach to students in need.
Participates in summer academic programming and orientation support where applicable.
Administrative and Testing Support
Organizes and proctors extended time, make-up, and standardized exams (e.g., AP, SAT, PSAT, HSPT, etc.).
Documents accommodations and testing plans in alignment with student support policies.
Maintains confidential student files and documents communication with families and staff.
Ensures test integrity and returns completed exams to teachers in a timely manner.
Innovation and Program Development
Participates in the growth and evolution of ALS programming, including summer opportunities, advisory programming, and new interventions.
Explores and implements innovative tools to support student skill development, including apps and digital platforms.
Collaborates with other departments to co-develop student workshops and shared learning opportunities.
Contributes to campus-wide efforts to design student-centered, equity-focused initiatives.
Professional Growth & Program Development
Stay current on best practices in learning support, accommodations, and adolescent development.
Contribute to the growth of ALS programming, including summer orientation, family education, and support with academic advising.
Explore and evaluate academic tools (e.g., digital platforms, apps) that support independent learning.
Engage in campus-wide conversations on student well-being, academic confidence, and inclusive practices.

Skills and Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required; credential or certification in education, learning support, or school psychology preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting high school students with diverse learning needs.
Faith Based
Deep understanding of executive functioning, differentiated instruction, and accommodation planning.
Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
Experience working with student data platforms (e.g., PowerSchool, Schoology, Google Suite).
Solutions-oriented with a team-oriented mindset and a flexible, strategic approach to problem-solving.
