We are looking to hire Electrical System Engineer immediately!
The candidate will focus on designing and developing electrical systems for the integration of electronic equipment on military and commercial aircraft, as well as ground stations. You will use Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools to create system wiring diagrams, circuit breaker panels, control panels, and related components. The position spans the full product lifecycle, from requirements capture and analysis through design, testing, and production, ensuring that all solutions meet technical requirements at minimum cost. You will contribute to power distribution design, electrical loads analysis, and load shedding schemes, and you will have the opportunity to support testing and integration of systems on the aircraft.
Responsibilities
Design and develop electrical systems to integrate electronic equipment on military and commercial aircraft and ground stations.
Create system wiring diagrams, circuit breaker panels, control panels, and related electrical design artifacts using CAD tools.
Develop power distribution architectures, perform electrical loads analysis, and define load shedding schemes to support mission and aircraft requirements.
Integrate electrical components and wiring into the design while ensuring compliance with vendor and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) requirements.
Verify system configurations and block diagrams to ensure design integrity and alignment with requirements.
Oversee the creation and maintenance of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, harness assembly drawings, circuit breaker layouts, and electrical loads analyses.
Coordinate aircraft electrical mission equipment installations and ensure proper integration with existing systems.
Identify, document, and communicate significant design and integration risks, and drive timely review and resolution with stakeholders.
Monitor aircraft installation design milestones and provide clear status reports to project and program management.
Operate in a collaborative team environment, working closely with other functional areas to develop design solutions and actively participate in design reviews.
Provide guidance, coaching, and training to other employees, supporting their technical development and adherence to processes.
Work with manufacturing teams, vendors, and suppliers to develop cost-effective and producible electrical solutions.
Investigate technical problems to root cause and champion the creation and implementation of effective corrective actions.
Apply configuration management tools and processes to control design baselines and documentation.
Create and refine development procedures, conduct effective design reviews, and provide technical guidance to other members of the development team.
Support system integration activities, including validation and verification, and contribute to sustainment of fielded systems.
Meet cost, schedule, and performance objectives with minimal oversight while maintaining high technical quality.
Communicate clearly and professionally in both oral and written form with internal teams and external customers.
Essential Skills
U.S. citizenship.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Top Secret security clearance; willingness to undergo required security investigations and meet eligibility requirements.
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline, typically with a minimum of five (5) years of prior relevant experience; or an advanced degree with a minimum of three (3) years of experience; or a minimum of nine (9) years of relevant experience in the absence of a degree.
Demonstrated experience in electrical design and integration for complex systems, including creation of schematics and wiring diagrams.
Knowledge of AS50881 and/or MIL-STD-1472 standards.
Ability to integrate electrical components and wiring while meeting vendor and OEM requirements.
Experience verifying system configurations and block diagrams for complex electrical systems.
Proficiency in overseeing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, harness assembly drawings, circuit breaker layouts, and electrical loads analysis.
Strong understanding of power distribution, electrical loads analysis, and load shedding concepts.
Ability to operate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment and participate in design reviews.
Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to investigate issues to root cause and drive corrective actions.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with internal and external customers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with aircraft and/or other technical system integration projects.
Knowledge of design and development processes with practical experience across multiple phases of the hardware lifecycle, including requirements, design, development, integration, validation/verification, and sustainment.
Familiarity with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 23 and Part 25 and military aircraft airworthiness design approaches, certification processes, and requirements.
Progressive understanding of aircraft power systems and various mission systems.
Proven experience working with manufacturing teams, vendors, and suppliers to develop cost-effective, producible solutions.
Experience using electrical design tools such as Microsoft Visio, AutoCAD, Capital Harness, and Catia.
Knowledge of Electrical Wiring Integration Systems (EWIS) standards.
Experience with configuration management tools and formal configuration control processes.
Ability to create development procedures, lead and contribute to design reviews, and provide technical guidance to team members.
Experience with environmental and electromagnetic qualification standards such as DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-E-7016, and MIL-STD-704.
Systems integration experience, particularly in aerospace or similarly complex domains.
Working knowledge of bidding processes and project or task estimation.
Ability to coach, mentor, and train other engineers in best practices and standards.
Familiarity with military and commercial standards related to human factors and equipment design, including MIL-STD-1472.
Work Environment
This position is fully on-site in Richardson, Texas, with no remote or hybrid options. You will work in a structured engineering environment that supports classified and unclassified programs, including some work that may require an active security clearance. The role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams, manufacturing, vendors, and suppliers, and uses modern CAD and electrical design tools such as Visio, AutoCAD, Capital Harness, and Catia. The environment emphasizes rigorous configuration management, formal design reviews, and adherence to aerospace and military standards across the full hardware lifecycle. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
