Quality Control Technician / Warehouse Associate - GMP Operations
Job Description
This full-time, on-site Quality Control Technician / Warehouse Associate - GMP Operations role is based in Sacramento, CA and focuses on supporting material handling, inventory control, and warehouse operations within a regulated pharmaceutical or GMP manufacturing environment. You will receive, store, and distribute materials while maintaining strict compliance with GMP, cGMP, safety, and documentation standards to ensure accurate inventory, product quality, and reliable support for Manufacturing, Quality Control, and other internal departments.
Responsibilities
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and established quality requirements.
Label, store, and segregate materials according to their status, such as quarantine, released, or rejected.
Pick, stage, and deliver materials to Manufacturing, Quality Control, and other departments based on approved requests.
Maintain warehouse organization and inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and adherence to 5S standards.
Use ERP or inventory management systems to ensure real-time and accurate tracking of materials.
Prepare materials for outbound shipment, including proper handling of cold chain products when required.
Complete and maintain all required GMP documentation, including logbooks, inventory records, and transaction logs.
Assist with the investigation and resolution of discrepancies, deviations, and inventory-related issues.
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and in accordance with procedures.
Follow all safety, environmental, and cGMP procedures while performing daily tasks.
Support cross-functional operations and continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse and related areas.
Ensure FEFO (First Expiry First Out) practices are consistently followed for all applicable materials.
Check and monitor expiration and retest dates on materials to ensure compliance and availability.
Maintain warehouse cleanliness, organization, and sanitation in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Perform calibration of weighing equipment as required to support accurate measurements and compliance.
Dispose of expired or rejected materials in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned to support overall warehouse and GMP operations.
Essential Skills
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 2 years of experience in warehousing, distribution, logistics, material handling, or similar roles.
Experience working in a pharmaceutical or GMP manufacturing environment.
Forklift experience and ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely.
Strong understanding of warehouse operations in regulated environments.
Knowledge of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and compliance requirements, including GMP and cGMP.
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in documentation and recordkeeping.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team.
Valid driver's license.
Authorization to work in the United States.
Ability to pass a drug and background check as required for the role.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
Ability to complete picking, packing, and inventory tasks efficiently and accurately.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience using ERP or inventory management systems for real-time tracking of materials.
Familiarity with 5S principles and continuous improvement practices in a warehouse environment.
Understanding of FEFO (First Expiry First Out) inventory practices.
Experience handling cold chain materials and preparing temperature-sensitive shipments.
Exposure to calibration of weighing equipment and related quality control processes.
Work Environment
This position is a full-time, on-site role based in Sacramento, CA, working within a regulated pharmaceutical or GMP manufacturing warehouse environment. You will spend most of the day on your feet, standing, walking, bending, lifting, and operating material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. The role involves working around racking, storage areas, and weighing equipment, as well as using ERP or inventory systems and completing detailed GMP documentation. The warehouse follows strict safety, environmental, and cGMP standards, with a strong emphasis on cleanliness, organization, and adherence to 5S practices. You will collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Quality Control, and other internal teams in a structured, process-driven setting that supports continuous improvement and reliable material flow.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sacramento, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.
