Substitute Nurse (RN/LPN)
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Substitute School Nurse to provide essential healthcare services across our educational facilities. Responsibilities
Assess and respond promptly to student health concerns, including injuries, illnesses, and emergencies, ensuring immediate and appropriate care.
Administer medications, injections, and treatments in accordance with physician orders and school policies while maintaining accurate medical documentation.
Conduct health screenings, monitor vital signs, and evaluate students physiological status to identify potential health issues early.
Maintain detailed medical records using electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for confidentiality.
Collaborate with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers to develop individualized health plans for students with special needs or chronic conditions.
Manage infectious disease protocols, including outbreak response and sanitation procedures, to protect the school communitys health.
Provide health education to students on topics such as hygiene practices, injury prevention, and wellness strategies.
Skills
Proven experience in Level II trauma centers or hospital medicine environments with a focus on emergency medicine and infectious disease care.
Strong knowledge of emergency room procedures, IV insertion, venipuncture, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS).
Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems for accurate documentation.
Excellent patient assessment skills with a solid understanding of physiology and anatomy relevant to pediatric and adolescent populations.
Ability to perform patient care tasks efficiently in outpatient clinic settings or inpatient environments such as PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) or Geriatrics units.
Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and medication protocols necessary for safe patient care.

Qualifications: Must be registered as License Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN)
Salary:
$20.50 per hour for LPN
$25.50 per hour for RN
