Summary This position is part of the Defense Human Resources Activity. The incumbent will be serve as an Administrative Officer for the OHR Director and PSD Director, with broad responsibilities in the areas of administration and support and with responsibility for the coordination and implementation of the DHRA Agency-Wide Awards Program. Responsibilities As a Administrative Officer at the GS-0301-12 some of your typical work assignments may include: - Acts as the OHR/PSD central point of contact for all internal and external correspondence; screens, prioritizes, assigns, and tracks inquiries and requests, monitoring progress and reporting status weekly to senior leadership. The incumbent ensures compliance with Department of War (DoW), Defense Human Resources Activity (DHRA), and agency policies by independently analyzing and interpreting higher-level directives and developing implementation plans. - Provides substantive analysis and recommendations to the HR Director and PSD Director on administrative operations, priorities, and program effectiveness. The incumbent provides management analysis support for DHRA's internal Human Capital policy directives and operating procedures. - This includes analyzing civilian and military human capital issues, overseeing programs with internal management controls, and reporting on DHRA-wide initiatives. - Manages day-to-day office operations, provides senior-level administrative support, serves as a primary point of contact for complex inquiries, and tracks high-priority actions to ensure timely and effective mission execution. - Provides senior-level administrative, programmatic, and correspondence support to leadership, manages all internal and external communications, and tracks high-priority actions to ensure timely resolution. - Leads the DHRA Agency-Wide Awards Program, overseeing program operations to ensure effectiveness and adapting procedures for evolving organizational needs. - Advises senior leadership and center Award points of contact on regulatory requirements and precedents and prepares related documentation. - Reviews award nominations for technical sufficiency and eligibility, working with nominators to correct deficiencies and providing guidance to senior leadership on regulatory requirements. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You may qualify at the GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service: Providing guidance and oversight for all internal and external correspondence; screening, prioritizing, assigning, and tracking inquiries and requests, monitoring progress and reporting status to senior leadership. Overseeing awards program operations to ensure effectiveness and adapting procedures for evolving organizational needs. Providing substantive analysis and recommendations to leadership on administrative operations, priorities, and program effectiveness. Applying established administrative policies, regulations, or procedures to answer inquiries and provide guidance to stakeholders. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
