To: Manager, Test Center, Academic Coaching & Tutoring Travel: One or
two days per week LOCATION: Green Bay STANDARD HOURS: 40 hours per week.
Typical hours Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; Flexibility required to
include other hours, as necessary. STARTING PAY RANGE: \$61,131.20 -
\$65,894 per year *Salaries/Wages for all finalists (internal and
external) will be placed within the range based upon education,
experiences, current wages, and internal equity. POSITION SUMMARY The
Nursing Academic Coach through collaboration with Nursing Faculty will
provide direct support to learners for increased success and persistence
in the courses. They will develop informational materials, provide
access to resources, and facilitate weekly workshops that provide
enhanced understanding of courses content. They will facilitate the
development of study skills and assist learners in understanding their
individuals learning style. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Deliver group coaching
with emphasis on medical surgical nursing, care plan development,
clinical time management and priority setting, application of theory
from classroom to bedside, pharmacology, and other nursing skills
focusing on all nursing students. Work with faculty through the
development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of review
sessions. Observe classroom instruction and activities as needed to
better align group coaching sessions with curriculum. Plan, prepare, and
develop various teaching tools to enhance student performance. Utilize
nursing judgement to assess and recommend nursing interventions to
manage test anxiety and overcome negative mindsets. Focus on promoting
health and wellness strategies that prepare students to thrive in a high
stress career. Create a welcoming, comfortable learning environment to
promote success for students requiring additional academic assistance.
Observe students\' performance and record relevant data to assess
progress. Interview, assess and collaborate with students in building a
plan with strategies to overcome immediate challenges during
test-taking. Through coaching empower students on developing study
skills and test-taking skills consistent with learning needs and style.
Collaborate with student to identify habits and behaviors hindering
their accuracy during tests. Raise awareness about these obstacles and
provide tool and motivation to modify these habits for greater success
in advance nursing classes. Collaborate with accommodation services,
library services, and other academic coaches to develop strategies to
optimize student success and retention. Attend and participate in team
meetings, the Quality Review Process and advisory committee meetings.
Collaborate with other Academic Coaches to identify and standardize best
practices across all learning teams. Be a resource in the recruiting,
onboarding, and scheduling of nursing tutors. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND
WORK EXPERIENCE Bachelor Degree in Nursing. A minimum of two years
Registered Nursing (RN) experience. Microsoft Office products,
electronic mail system, Workday, Canvas SIS, Starfish Early Alert and
basic computer software experience. Knowledge of adult learning styles
and strategies to maximize learning Must hold a valid driver\'s license
and be insurable under the District\'s standard insurance policy terms.
An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be
