The Principal Manufacturing Quality Engineer/Site Supplier Quality Engineer executes operational and strategic efforts focused on product quality improvement, with primary oversight of the product/component testing and manufacturing control plan (MCP) auditing processes in assigned manufacturing area(s) supporting the Plastics COE/APF. The Site Supplier Quality Engineer owns and drives site supplier quality SCAR, NCR, and billback process.

How You'll Create Possibilities
Collaborate with factory operations team to improve product quality through the identification and elimination of root cause of issues. Utilize Lean manufacturing concepts to facilitate the success and validation of manufacturing processes. Communicate opportunities and project status with COE/AFP Operations and Quality Leaders and cross-functionally.
Resolve escalated floor & field issues. Coordinate quality, manufacturing, design, SQE & technology team resources to drive solutions. Ensure control plans resolve issues.
Facilitate the MCP process to create, communicate and publish all documents for assigned manufacturing area(s) within the Plastics COE/APF. Ensure MCP documents are relevant and up to date. Coordinate resources to operationalize MCPs. Ensure MCP processes are followed during change control.
Create, update and maintain Manufacturing Control Instructions (MCIs), visual aids and quality alerts as needed.
Coordinate cross functionally to ensure repair procedures are approved and repair operators are trained.
Collaborate with factory operations team to improve product quality through the identification and elimination of root cause of issues. Utilize Lean manufacturing concepts and AI tools where possible to facilitate the success and validation of manufacturing processes. Communicate opportunities and project status with COE/APF Operations and Quality Leaders and cross-functionally.
Live, promote and support the Appliance Performance System (APS) philosophy and drive continuous improvement in the quality area.
Work with AQE to drive selection of Critical to Quality characteristics (CTQs) to the vital few. Implement the appropriate measurement method on selected CTQs.
Work with BQL (Business Quality Leader) to determine projects & quarterly goals to improve yield, scrap, SCR and other COQ metrics.
Provide guidance to the broad New Product Introduction (NPI) team regarding manufacturing process capabilities for application to new designs, processes or geometries. Evaluate and implement new testing technologies to support new product innovations, while improving outgoing quality.
Own all aspects of the testing process, including data analysis to drive yield, COQ and scrap metrics as defined in goals & objectives. Drive escalation of product, process, part and/or tester issues. Ensure MCI/MCP is followed and audit the test process & the pass/fail limits. Work with Process/Manufacturing Engineers and Technology to drive immediate actions/projects to improve metrics.
Provide technical ownership to drive the development, procurement and implementation of factory quality measurement systems including gaging, test equipment, go/no-go decisions, 3D scanning, and coordinate measuring machine (CMM) systems, as well as pressure decay leak testers.
Analyze data as part of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and implement escalation plans as required by MCI/MCP. Create SPC for key metrics per the MCP. Monitor data trends and identify root cause if out of control and lead corrective actions.
Site Supplier Quality Engineer responsibilities include:
Work closely with the manufacturing team and quality engineers to identify supplier-provided part issues; lead problem definition and reactive problem solving through containment, identification of root cause and corrective action with SCAR.
Interface with SQE team. Ensure supplier issues are being addressed and followed up on.
Work with suppliers and third-party resources as needed to rework defective parts, lead inspections, and ensure proper deviation procedures are followed.
Complete NCR, SCAR, and billbacks for supplier non-conformities.

What You'll Bring to Our Team
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related discipline
7+ years of experience with manufacturing quality/NPI quality projects and process improvement
Experience with product and process Quality Management System development and implementation
Knowledge of PFMEA / FMEA and linkage to MCPs
Experience interpreting data to solve problems associated with high volume, short cycle manufacturing of consumer products.
Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.
Computer literate and skilled in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Minitab, Outlook, MS Copilot, and other AI tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
Six Sigma Certification
Master Molder Certification
Water filtration experience
Quality Leadership experience
Lean Manufacturing experience
Expert ability in gauging and other measurement tools
Strong working knowledge of APQP PPAP
Experience with injection molding, the appliance industry, highly automated manufacturing environments, or other high-volume production processes.
Working Conditions:
Working conditions are normal for a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hard hats.
Role will require frequent walking in a manufacturing plant environment.
Travel (up to 10%) to suppliers and other manufacturing locations as needed.
This position is in Louisville, KY.
Hours & Weekends: Working off-shift and weekends may be required.
