Job Description
This role oversees day-to-day construction activities on a commercial job site, ensuring work progresses safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. The construction superintendent coordinates site operations, supports skilled trades, and maintains a clean, organized environment while contributing directly to tasks such as material handling, concrete work, and framing.
Responsibilities
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site by removing debris, sweeping work areas, and disposing of materials properly.
Load, unload, and move construction materials, tools, and equipment around the site as directed.
Place, remove, and reposition concrete curing blankets to support proper concrete finishing and temperature control.
Operate basic hand tools such as hammers, shovels, brooms, and levels to support daily construction tasks.
Use basic power tools, including drills, saws, grinders, and impact drivers, safely and according to instructions.
Assist skilled tradespeople, including carpenters, concrete finishers, and equipment operators, with routine tasks to keep work progressing.
Set up and break down temporary structures, barricades, and work zones in accordance with site plans and safety requirements.
Follow all safety procedures, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), and report hazards or unsafe conditions immediately.
Support material staging and inventory by organizing supplies and ensuring tools and equipment are returned to their proper locations.
Perform additional labor duties as assigned to keep the project moving efficiently and on schedule.
Coordinate day-to-day site activities to support ground-up commercial construction, including framing and concrete work.
Communicate clearly with skilled construction workers to relay instructions, resolve basic issues, and support team collaboration.
Essential Skills
Experience in construction environments, preferably on commercial construction projects.
Knowledge of ground-up construction processes, including framing and concrete work.
Ability to operate basic hand tools such as hammers, shovels, brooms, and levels.
Ability to safely operate basic power tools, including drills, saws, grinders, and impact drivers.
Understanding of construction site safety practices and consistent use of required PPE.
Ability to assist carpenters, concrete finishers, and equipment operators with routine tasks.
Capability to set up and dismantle temporary structures, barricades, and work zones.
Strong organizational skills to support material staging, tool management, and site cleanliness.
Ability to communicate effectively with skilled construction workers.
Physical ability to work in an active construction environment, including lifting, carrying, and working on uneven or muddy surfaces.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in construction management or supervision is beneficial.
Experience as a superintendent or in a leadership role on construction sites is an advantage.
Carpentry, framing, and concrete skills in a commercial construction setting are highly valuable.
Familiarity with large-scale commercial projects and general contractor operations is a plus.
Interest in long-term project work on a multi-year construction schedule.
Work Environment
This position is based on an active commercial construction site for a multi-year project, with work focused on ground-up construction, including framing and concrete activities. The environment is fully field-based, involving outdoor and partially enclosed areas where conditions can be muddy and affected by weather. The role requires consistent use of personal protective equipment and adherence to strict safety protocols. Work involves regular use of hand tools and power tools, movement of materials and equipment, and coordination with various skilled trades. The site operates in a fast-paced, production-focused setting where teamwork, clear communication, and adaptability are essential.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $29.36 - $29.36/hr.
