Job Description
The Quality Inspector provides QA inspection support on a modern manufacturing floor by performing basic to intermediate electro-mechanical inspections to verify conformance to internal requirements and industry standards. This role identifies and quarantines non-conforming materials, conducts first article inspections, executes a variety of test procedures with accuracy, and supports applied and administrative quality activities, including documentation, audits, and ERP transactions.
Responsibilities
Perform basic to intermediate electro-mechanical inspections to verify conformance to internal requirements.
Conduct first article inspections to determine conformance to specified electro-mechanical requirements.
Identify, report, and quarantine non-conforming materials in a timely and accurate manner.
Perform and record results of a variety of test procedures with precision and accuracy under supervision.
Apply sampling principles to material inspections according to defined quality requirements.
Apply external standards such as IPC-A-600 and IPC-A-610 to material inspections when required.
Accurately perform material transactions in the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system based on inspection findings.
Reliably and accurately record inspection results in appropriate quality documents and records.
Perform process and quality record audits to identify, correct, and help prevent process deficiencies.
Interpret basic electro-mechanical part and assembly drawings to support inspection activities.
Perform basic mechanical measurements using tools such as CMM, calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Apply basic math, including numeric conversions, during inspections and data recording.
Plot inspection data, recognize out-of-control conditions, and escalate issues as needed.
Use MS Office applications and computer systems to document inspections and support quality reporting.
Essential Skills
1+ years of related quality inspection or electro-mechanical inspection experience.
Ability to interpret basic electro-mechanical part and assembly drawings.
Ability to perform basic mechanical measurements with minimal supervision.
Basic knowledge in the use and application of measurement tools, including coordinate measuring machines (CMM), calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, thread gauges, and radius gauges.
Basic working knowledge of X, Y, Z coordinate systems and GD&T dimensioning.
Proficiency in the basic application of test methodologies, procedures, and techniques.
Ability to apply basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and numeric conversions, in the course of inspections.
Understanding of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems for transacting and moving materials.
Demonstrated understanding of basic quality terms, definitions, and concepts.
Demonstrated understanding of basic statistical terms and techniques.
Working knowledge of ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 sampling procedures and tables for inspection by attributes.
Ability to apply the ASQ seven quality tools, including Pareto charts, fishbone diagrams, flowcharts, control charts, check sheets, scatter diagrams, and histograms.
Ability to plot data and recognize out-of-control conditions.
Understanding and practical use of MS Office applications.
Strong attention to detail in inspection, measurement, and documentation.
Ability to read and work from blueprints and quality assurance documentation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma required.
Technical school education or a relevant technical certificate preferred.
IPC-A-610 certification preferred.
Experience using micrometers and other precision measuring tools on plastic and metal components.
Experience working with computer systems to support inspection and quality documentation.
Ability to work accurately and reliably in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Work Environment
This role is based on a brand-new, state-of-the-art manufacturing floor built in 2018. The environment is a manufacturing casual setting, with a dress code appropriate for a manufacturing facility. The position operates on either 1st shift (5:30 am - 2:00 pm) or 2nd shift (2:30 pm - 11:00 pm). The facility includes a spacious break room with multiple microwaves and refrigerators, as well as self-serve kiosks offering sandwiches, instant meals, snacks, and drinks. Employees have access to both indoor and outdoor seating areas and multiple televisions on the floor. Additional amenities include wellness rooms for quiet breaks, a chill lounge for relaxed conversations away from the manufacturing floor, multiple cafeterias and gaming areas with activities such as ping pong, shuffleboard, and corn hole, free fruit on select days, and a nearby 3.5-mile hiking trail. The site also features a fitness center with locker rooms and showers, a rooftop deck for lunch or breaks, and visible recognition boards celebrating employee achievements.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.58/hr.
