Job Title: Joist Shop Welder - 2nd Shift

Job Description

We are seeking ten skilled individuals to join our team in the joist shop. The position involves operating weld machines, monitoring machinery, and working collaboratively in an assembly line to produce joists. You will initially learn the machinery and undergo welding training before operating welding and laser machines.

Responsibilities

Operate weld machines and ensure proper assembly of joists.

Monitor machinery to verify correct operation.

Collaborate with team members on assembly lines.

Read and interpret schematics for joist assembly.

Handle materials and perform touch-up painting as needed.

Maintain cleanliness and perform sweeping duties as required.

Essential Skills

Experience with MIG, TIG, or Stick welding is advantageous.

Ability to read schematics and operate various machinery.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in trades or trade schooling is preferred.

Strong reliability and attendance record are crucial.

Work Environment

Work in a manufacturing plant where structural steel is fabricated for bridge work. The atmosphere is heavy industrial, with loud noises and varying temperatures-hot in the summer and cold in the winter. This role is strictly labor-focused with an emphasis on attendance.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Point of Rocks, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.17 - $24.17/hr.
