Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Change Control Engineer to support multiple defense products and systems produced by the engineering team. This is a role for a detail-oriented, methodical, and disciplined individual. They will own product baseline control of existing products and products in development; this entails change management across internal engineering changes, external government-contract changes, and supplier and production coordination. This position is engineering-focused, working within the design teams to ensure initial designs and changes are clearly defined, properly authorized, correctly documented, and fully traceable. This role will be the liaison between engineering and the government program offices for baseline definition and change.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Establish, maintain, and enforce configuration baselines across multiple active programs.
Ensure drawings, specifications, BOMs, and technical data packages accurately reflect the approved baseline at all times; ensure agreement across PDM, PLM, and ERP systems.
Maintain complete change history and records suitable for customer review, audit, and long-term sustainment.
Primary author and steward of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Notice of Revisions (NORs) for government programs.
Work with program office to ensure accurate responses and documentation delivery to customers.
Follow implemented procedures and processes as well as improvements to processes and tools used to effect proper change control and history.
Plan support for initial product release to production.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical Discipline, or equivalent experience.
3+ years of professional experience in a configuration management role and comfortable working with PLM/PDM and ERP systems.
Hands on experience with ECO/ECR processes.
Demonstrated strong technical writing skills.
Experience in defense contractor programs and familiarity with defense contract change mechanisms: ECPs, NORs, etc. preferred.
Working knowledge of CM standards such as EIA-649 and ASME Y14.35 preferred.
Experience interfacing directly with customers and government representatives on change matters preferred.
Experience leading technical projects and teams preferred.
