Summary You will serve as an Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic in the Production Lines Division, MRO Production Department of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST. Responsibilities You will use a wide variety of test equipment such as sweep and pulse generators, precision frequency and power measuring devices, twin channel oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers and various @types of special test equipment You will adapt to constantly changing methods, specifications, frequencies, and tolerances. You will use equipment that demands advanced trade skills and knowledge with respect to such factors as precise timing of radio frequencies, antenna range, indicator sweep rotations, signal strengths, etc. You will follow drawings for integrated electronic systems and identify effects a change in one system will have on other systems and determine parts to be replaced or adjusted You will improvise test equipment and apply trade techniques to solve unusual problems involving, location and density of circuitry and devices, electromagnetic radiation effects, and troubleshooting difficulties in isolating malfunctions. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision: 1) Installing, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling, aligning, modifying, performing final test calibrations, analyzing and pinpointing maintenance problems in highly complex navigation, detection, identification, and radar electronic devices, navigational radar, electronic countermeasure systems, global positioning system (GPS), and armament systems; 2) Using test equipment such as voltmeters, signal generators, sweep and pulse generators, dual trace oscilloscopes, deviation meters, sweep carts, precision power and frequency measuring devices; 3) Solving complicated problems encountered by test pilots while in flight and correcting unusual discrepancies found during flight and understanding flight characteristics and their effect on electronic systems so that trouble can be identified and corrected; 4) Calculating waveform, tracing relationships in the signal flow and adapting electronic principles to achieve optimum effectiveness to integral devices contained in highly complex equipment situations are encountered where limited technical information is available; 5) Performing a full range of tests to insure the performance of the equipment while depending on various other systems for information that must be fed into it in order to perform its mission; 6) Performing checkout of digital and analog computers, radar altimeters and inertial measurement systems and repairing or replacing defective components.
